How to make tripbombs without the annoying red laser (invisible beams) [for Duke3D 1.3d and under] By: KaBoom! Well the first thing you need is duke nukem 3D. Shareware or Registered, it shouldn't matter. But you will need the programs, kextract and editart (which come with the registered version). The first thing you do is put these files on your hard drive with duke3d and type the following. kextract duke3d.grp *.art editart g2567 (backspace) c hit esc and save the file. That's it! kextract is a program that extracts files from the group files. group files are the dukenukem version of wad files. editart is a program that edits the art in dukenukem3D. It's quick but it's horrible for actual drawing of art. g2567 runs the goto command for sprite number 2567 (this sprite is the laserbeam for the tripbomb) backspace turns the selected color into the transparent color and c copys the selected over all the color on the cursor. Have fun and tripbombs rule!! Now more than ever! -KaBoom-- Bring strategy into duke3d. (This serves no good purpose in 1player mode, except if you want to make it harder.)

Make two tiles; One totaly blank the other with a "dust" effect(chop the beam up, Pixel the beam more for a less visable line) to the laserbeam. Basicly trying to simluate a laser beam hitting dust particales in the air.. Tweak the colors and the pattern for the greatest effect!
Duke1.4/1.5 Allows you to manualy change the visiability of the beam from the user con. However it does not add the scatter effect...which is highly recommended! Apply this effect in areas on maps for a dusty effect.
