It was at first a expansion for Duke Nukem 3D, but after a few changes to the engine was made, we've decided that it would be better to release it as a whole standalone game. City Terror is actually a multiplayer game, to play over LAN or modem, but with the new changes to the engine we made, it can be very enjoyable in single player as well. The game is set in a city, with hardworking citizens. But the silence will be soon disrupted by idiot maniacs trying to track down eachother and kill. Indeed, when playing it in multiplayer, all players must kill eachother to score points. But there is one thing to make it even more exciting, Police officers, they will try to take players out to preserve peace in the city. 2 How to play City Terror To play a game of City Terror in single player, start City Terror, once in the main menu, select 'practice' to practice one of the levels of City Terror. You won't play it with other players, but you now have the opportunity to explore the city areas and train yourself fighting against the police officers. If you want to play the christmas styled levels, run XMSINST.BAT to install them in the practice section. To set up a multiplayer City Terror game, run setup and use on of the available methods of playing it multiplayer. By example, to play a game over Local Area Network, use network game. to play a game over Modem, use modem game. You will arrive in a menu where you can choose your player name and game socket. When you have put up the right settings, choose Start City Terror and wait for the rest of the players to do the same thing. When everything is okay, you will enter the main menu of the game. Choose Mp-Game and select the level and episode where you want to play. (Episode 1 is a co-op episode, Episode 3 is the City Terror episode. Choose one level for a deathmatch in episode 3 or the Co-Op level in episode 1. You must also define what kind of game you want to play, cityterror (deathmatch), Co-Op (working together) VERY IMPORTANT, make sure you have set the skill setting to POLICE ON if you want the police to come back after a few minutes when they have died. 3 Co-Op games This is for multiplay only. City Terror includes one co-op mission where players have to co-operate their actions instead of killing eachtother. When in the main menu, select episode 1 level 1 to play the Co op level. (Make sure you have set 'game type' to 'co-op' and skill setting to 'police on') The level is a prison, one or two players are trapped in it, and the others must rescue them out of there. Once they have rescued them, they must escape through the sewer manhole in the courtyard of the prison to find their way to the sewage tunnels out of there. 4 ICsetup The City Terror zip file included a small program named ICsetup.exe, with this program, you are able to play City Terror over internet with other players all around the world. Install the program if you are interested in it. Once you have installed it, you need to configure a few things. When in the main menu of it, go to 'configure'. When here, you need to define in wich map you have installed City Terror under 'DIRECTORY OF DUKE NUKEM 3D' Because City Terror uses the Duke Nukem 3D game engine. From there, you are adviced to read the IC manual to go on. 5 Weapons City Terror uses four kinds of weapons: Kick foot, (When you're out of ammo or something) Glock17, (The first weapon you will have at start of each level) Spas12, (Shotgun weapon, easily to find around the levels) M16, (This is a rare weapon, you will have to search in some levels to find it because it's hidden somewhere, if a level hides a M16, it will be announced at the beginning of that level) 6 Credits Rob "Highwire" Wijkstra Project leader, CON coding, level editing.
