WHAT IS "Terrorist Terror Total Conversion" ? ========================================= TT is a total conversion for Duke Nukem 3d Atomic edition. It is the story of Steve Forest a secret agent an the way home from a top secret mission. Suddenly on the journey home his plane is hijacked and he, along with others is taken hostage. You play as Steve Forest as you hunt down the terrorists across the globe. Terrorist TC features: * Duke Nukem is replaced by a new hero, Steve Forest. * Various outrageous new weapons such as Super pipebombs and the Despatcher! * New inventory items like cloaking device. * Four new enemies * Loads of cameo's, look out for lo-wang, dopefish and many more! * New sounds and lots of new graphics tiles! * A new episode (9 maps) for Single Player/Cooperative. Play unique levels never released on the net. * Loads of cool sprites, like snowmakers, that you can use in user maps. * Great running storyline. ===================================== 2. INSTALLATION / STARTING A NEW GAME ===================================== 1) Copy the file TT.ZIP to your \Duke3d directory 2) Unzip the file TT.ZIP 3) Run TT.BAT 4) In Single Player, select 'START A NEW GAME' and the episode 'TERRORIST TERROR'. After that you must choose the difficulty level. We recommend the easiest 'BABY DINGO', your going to have your work cut out trying to beat some of these levels. The difficulty level 'ODDS ARE 100K TO 1' is for secret agents only ( or insane dukers ). 5) In Cooperative, the right episode is 'TERRORIST TERROR' just like in single player, but you should choose 'GETTING HARDER MATE' as the difficulty level (or 'NOW WE'RE TALKIN'' if you're not so good ) 6) For a show off of some of the sprites ( and a floating shark ) choose 'TT SHOW-OFF'. This is a single map with some cool sprites and is where I ( Mike C ) tested out all the weapons and sprites. ============================ 3. WEAPONS / INVENTORY ITEMS ============================ TERRORIST TC features several cool weapons that were all original ideas ( so they're not nicked off Duke Xtreme ). Here are short descriptions of them: * Pistol Weapon no. 2 Ammo pack: 12 rounds Max ammo: 100 rounds This sleek design can kill most smaller enemies but does't work great against anything more than a henchman. * Wooden Shotgun Weapon no. 3 This sleek shotgun maybe a design of the past compared to advanced shotguns like Duke Nukem's but it packs a punch! Can bring down henchmen in two or three shots. * Machine Gun Weapon no. 4 Ammo pack: 50 rounds Max ammo: 200 rounds One slick machine-gun! Eats through ammo like hell though. * Super RPG launcher Weapon no. 5 Ammo pack: 5 Rockets Nuclear warhead pack: 10 Max units: 50 RPGs that use a Nuclear warhead attatchment which are collected seperately cause larger explosions and larger radius, WARNING don't look into the flash. * Super Pipebombs Weapon no. 6 Ammo pack: 5 grenades Max grenades: 25 Throw the grenade at the target, then trigger it like a normal pipebomb. Now's where the fun starts, the pipebomb's outer casing explodes, the bomb then rises up to a certain distance and then stops, begins spinning, and fires out lasers in all directions. Take cover as this can also be detonated by the space bar. It also has a secret mode which is explained in the secret area of one of the levels. * Neural-eraser Weapon no. 7 Ammo pack: 10 Max units: 50 This gun erases several carefully monitored neural patterns in it's targets cerebral tissue, it causes memory loss and certain skills are erased. Unfortunately some types of people cannot survive the mental shockwaves that rupture through the body and are destroyed completely. On a normal foe all memories of weapon usage are erased rendering them harmless. The only way to restore these neural patterns is through extreme pain, and we all know who is going to be dishing it out. * Tornado Gun Weapon no. 7 Ammo pack: 10 Max units: 50 When fired, this weapon will make enemies spin in circles until they explode. Be careful around mirrors. * Wall Mines Weapon no. 9 Ammo pack: single unit Max mines: 10 Mines can only be placed on walls. The mine detonates by means of a tripwire. This weapon is mainly for DukeMatch, but it can also be used in single player/co-op levels. * DESPATCHER Weapon no. 0 Ammo pack: 10 Max ammo: 99 rounds This is a state of the art Dehydration gun straight from the Pentagon. Just point n' fry and watch as a small pile of dust is all that is left of your foe. Don't let it ricochet back at you though or the last thing you'll see is your bodily fluids spraying out in all directions. * NUCLEAR WARHEAD Inventory item. R Single Unit: 1 Max Units: 1 RPG's that use a Nuclear warhead attatchment which are collected seperately, cause larger explosions and larger radius, these addons replace the steroids and fix on to the RPGs, inspired by Shadow warrior. However if you happen to press R on the key board.. Well, lets just say, BE CAREFUL! ============================ 4. STORY ============================ STORY (To view the story corectly in notepad select Edit -> Word Wrap) Steven Forest pushed a flight pillow behind his head and closed his tired eyes. It had been a long day and he was ready for some serious shut-eye, the fact that he had the files that would save the FBI and the CIA from collapse didn't cross his mind once. Letting out a sigh he put on his stereo head phones, as a kind of sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of flight v30-196, and dropped into a doze. The plane almost floated over the clouds which were bathed in an orange glow from the setting sun, a few cabin lights visible on the fuselage of the jet. The proof ( supposedly ) had been out for just under 3 weeks. It showed eyewitness photagraphs of the heads of the FBI and CIA making a deal with a notorius drug baron in a secret location in Africa. The evidence that Steve held would turn the whole court case around and prove the FBI and CIA's Innocence. But at the moment, for Steve, it all meant dick. Waking because of nature's call, he lifted his weary bones and ambled his way to the restroom and checked the door. "Damn, it's locked, I guess I can hold." He walked back to his seat and fell into it. Suddenly the restroom door flew open and 6 men wearing masks burst out of a seemingly tiny toilet. They ran to the best tactical positions in the plane, two at the rear, two in the middle section and two in the pilot's cabin. Steve silently opened his briefcase and drew out his LP-96 9mm pistol, the gun was straight from the german government for his help in riots there, 2017 that was. The side arm was porcelain ( undetectable in airport sensors ) , and good for long range point shooting. 'Just in case' he thought to himself. He decided it would be best to leave the terrorists to their own devices, maybe they would take what they wanted and be caught at the airport. He pulled out a book from his suitcase, "Why I'm So Great" by Duke Nukem, 'jesus' he thought 'Does he love himself or what?'. James Bond, now he was a hero, okay he was only fiction but hey, he just has a slick way of getting things done. Gunshots and screams broke his day-dream, 'What the hell is going on,' he almost shouted in his mind, 'What are they thinking, if a bullet punches through a wall we'll all be coughing up our lungs in no time'. Steve leapt out into the aisle and began running the length of the plane when a terrorist stepped out from behind him and grasped his shoulder. He turned to meet the scarred face of a mediterranian man. " Put your hands behind your head, I have a knife." barked the irratable terrorist. "You aren't gonna shoot me." said Forest quickly glancing down at his belt, he couldn't let them know he had a gun, he might need it later. "Why the hell not." "Because I'm bigger than you, asshole." Steve swung his fist around and landed a crushing blow on the guys head and kneed him in the gut. The man got up immediatly and took a fighting stance. "Come on dickless, make my day." Steve taunted the guy. "Your right, I won't kill you." The terrorist grabbed the arm of an elderly woman. "Oh f**k" Steve cursed as the man drew the woman up close and slit her neck. Crimson blood gushed out of the severed arteries and stained the cheap carpet, the victim choking on her own blood gasped for air but finally gave in to death. Forest threw himself at the man and kicked the at his torso, he fell to the floor where Steve placed his foot on the guy's neck. Forest's size 12 boot sealed this man's fate. More gunshots echoed from the front of the plane. "Hell, they must have shot the pilots, who's gonna fly the plane now?". The intercom crackled to life and a voice said calmly "There has been a change of flight plan, we are taking you to a secret base in central Africa, and seeing as how you are going to die, I will tell you why. We are going to conduct several radiation tests on normal healthy humans, to see what will happen when we launch our nuclear assault on the capital cities of the world. Thankyou and enjoy your flight." Grabbing the knife from the fallen man, Steve assesed the situation. Meanwhile a terrorist had come down from the front of the plane when he saw his dead comrade. Bellowing with rage he turned to see a knife thrown at him and hit him square in the chest, groaning he fell to his knees and died. Using this man's gun Steve finished off the other four terrorists, quickly, safely. Now standing in the pilots cabin, Forest watched on in horror. The two pilots were dead on the floor, pushed away from their seats, and a laptop computer was crudely attatched to the flight computer using a complex mesh of wires. "Hey is anyone here a computer expert here?" Steve called and then stepped back in to the cabin. "Shit, there's enough C4 explosives on this thing to blow a crater in the moon" Steve said to no one but himself. A small thin man stepped through the curtain and adressed Forest. "I'm the best hacker on this plane." "Well check this out then" "Holy shit," he cried. "Thats just what I said" put in Steve. The hacker, Darren, explained that the passcode for the flight program was 200 characters long and if you got it wrong 3 times the C4 was detonated. There were billions of possible combinations. 'The terrorists must have had a copy of the code in case something went wrong,' Steve thought, 'yeah something like me!' Forest checked the pockets of each of the dead terrorists until he noticed a small bit of a piece of paper which had numbers and letters on it. Smiling to himself he pulled out the paper, suddenly his smile faded, the paper was blood stained so badly he couldn't make out the code. "Looks like we're stuck here" Steven told the hacker and showed him the code. No cellulars, no e-mail, no nothing. "Shit" When they arrived at the jungle fortress they were ushered into a small cell block and Steve had to share his cramped cell with two other men and one by one the hostages were taken out of their cells and escorted out of the room. None returned. Forest suddenly realised it was midnight and he was alone, checking his belt for the gun, a thought crossed his mind, Were the terrorists here for the files? Was that why he was the last one alive? "Who knows?" he said to himself and pulled out his gun, the terrorists had relied on airport metal detectors. "Assholes" Steve said and shot the lock. They would be here in a couple of minutes. Earlier he had needed a reason to chase these bastards half-way around the globe and now he had one, self preservation, nope, vengance, yes. Little did he know, he'd have to go more than half-way around the world to extinguish this TERRORIST TERROR. =============== 5. ENEMY FORCES =============== There are four new enemies in Terrorist Terror. Here are short descriptions of them: * Terrorist Henchman The front line of the terrorist forces, he only uses a pistol and is pretty easy to exterminate. * Terrorist Henchman 2 This is the next up of the set of terrorists in the TC, they have a shotgun and some armor. Watch out, they can catch careless players off guard. * Terrorist Henchman 3 These henchmen where bullet proof vests and hold machine guns! They are slightly tougher than the other henchmen. * Tourets One of the mobster boss' two bodyguards can be found in the London level. He has a morter launcher and the blue access card. * Mr Jiggs The second of the mobster boss' two bodyguards can be found in the Volcano Base. He also has a morter launcher and the blue access card. * Mob Boss The mastermind behind the Terrorist Terror. Little is known about him rather than he is extremly dangerous, carrying a rocket launcher and a secret military reved up Despatcher. =============================== 6. SINGLE PLAYER / CO-OP LEVELS =============================== These levels are in the "TERRORIST TERROR" episode. * "Rainforest" Location: A Rainforest After escaping from the Terrorist camp Steven finds he is lost in the rainforest where the camp is situated. Knowing there must be some kind of transport somewhere Steven heads into a subtropical warzone. Mike's comments : Get ready for a rumble in the jungle. Reptile's comments : Just kill your way out... * "Ancient Village" Location: A village somewhere in Africa. Just his luck! This time Steven's plane crash landed in the middle of nowhere! Waking up just bearly alive, Steven crawls his way though an underground stream, it being the only way out. Steven then emerges into a tribe village he saw on Discovery last week. It being a friendly village, he hopes they can take care of him... To bad the terrorists got there first and murdered all the villagers. But why? Out of pure evil? Probably that too. For their hidden technology? Definetly! Reptile's comments : Unlimited technology and they rip off Quake(tm) Oh wait.. I made the level.. * "Mansion" Location: Steven Forest's Home Steven heads home after escaping the clutches of the Terrorist organisation, only to find they beat him to it. Steven must fight for his life, and his house! There's a secret exit in the back... Let's hope he'll make it! Mike's comments : Home sweet home, I don't think! Reptile's comments : Some red whine anyone? Hey... this isn't whine... * "Full Speed Ahead" Location: The world's first Nuclear train 'KC3' Steve gets an annonymous tip off from an e-mail and flies to England just in time to board the 'KC3', destination: London, England's capital city. This is the railroad to hell and it's full speed ahead! Mike's comments : Just wait 'till you try it in deathmatch! Reptile's comments : Ya, I gotta try it... Except who's got time to play games when the world is coming to an end! * "Station Shootout" Location: The final destination, London. Arriving at the station, Steven notices that the platforms are empty, no media, no cheering crowds. He realises terrorists must have taken over the place and jumps off the train, ready for action. It's peril on the platforms as Steven fights his way to escape through an electricity substation. Mike's comments : It's the end of the line for the terrorists! Reptile's comments : I really thought that the book shelves were filled with crap... I mean, Duke's got time to right a book while you have to go out and save the world. Yeesh! * "London" Location: London, England. The worst area of London and the Terrorists are ready for a fight. You'll need high tech weaponry, skill and a hell of a lot of luck if your going to survive. Rumour has it that the mobster boss's own body guard, Touretts, is hiding out in the city, with a morter launcher. The police force couldn't keep them under control, one man has no chance unless his name is Steve Forest! Mike's comments : Time for some capital punishment, heh heh heh. Reptile's comments : Oh my God! They killed Kenny, you bastards!... Oh wait, it's just some mechanic... * "Terrorist Transfer" Location: An Airport. Steven finds out that the terrorist base is hidden inside a Volcano and catches the next plane there. Unfortunately on arriving at the airport he has a few troubles, in the form of terrorists! Running through the baggage conveyor tunnels just add to the problem. Mike's comments : If you think this is hard wait 'till you get to customs and excise! Reptile's comments : This level isn't 100% finished of what it was going to be. Sorry guys, but he designer quit, so I had to edit it up so it works :( * "Volcano Base" Location: Volcano. Steven drops through the roof of one of the volcano base's rooms and finds that the place is swarming with terrorists. The numbers are overwhelming, this should be the hardest challenge yet. Not only that but in order to get to the lift you have to get through Mr Jiggs, uh oh! Mike's comments : Just pray it doesn't erupt! * "The Final Showdown" Location: Bottom of the lift. The mob boss never thought you would make it this far. Catching him off guard, you have a slight advantage. Just hurry up because the lava is soon going to eat through the base and then you are both dead! Oh ya! Remember the missile stolen from the US government? Well it's here too... Also, guess what.. Seems the mob boss tried some radiation experiments on himself... They couldn't make him much stronger.. Could they? Reptile's comments : Oh my God! It's hideos! It's Huge! A radiation experiment? =================== 7. DUKEMATCH LEVELS =================== The levels that work as Dukematch are : Rain Forest - Was made with single player in mind but works just as well with it's many multiplayer only teleporters and powerups. Ancient Village - Best for a high number of players. Mansion - Not great for dukematch. Full Speed Ahead - TONS of fun for dukematch! Just try it yourself! Station Shootout - Small, and fun! London - Try at your own risk... Is OK for dukematch, not great though. Terrorist Transfer - so-so Volcano Base - Lots of cool dukematch stuff. The Boss - You must be kidding! ============= 8. UNDER FIRE ============= TT may seem to be quite difficult at first. Here are a few tips how to survive: * In a single player game, save often ! * Hide behind walls and columns to avoid enemy fire. * Use ammo wisely. * Sometimes it's better to withdraw to a better firing position, than to stay in a place where everyone can shoot you. Especially if you are outnumbered (in single player, that means every time :) =========== 9.
