Duke must take on Lo Wang in a fight to the death. Watch out, because if Lo Wang's rapid fire uzi doesn't cut you into chunks, he will slice you into Duke sushi with his ninja sword! This is a graphics and sound patch for Duke Nukem Version 1.7+ (Atomic/Plutonium version to follow when I have time). The graphics and sounds of the pigcops in Duke3D are replaced with Lo Wang graphics and sounds from Shadow Warrior. Additional Credits to : 3D Realms, for making two awesome games and Ken Silverman for making his editing utilities available to all. ========================================================================== *Play Information* Single Player :yes - level must have pigcops DukeMatch Level :yes - level must have pigcops Difficulty Settings :does not apply *Construction* Base : will work with any level that contains pigcops Editor used : editart.exe kextract.exe known bugs : pigcops in recon cars still look like pigcops, but become Lo Wang when the car is shot down. Next version will have edited graphics to put Lo Wang in the car and perhaps a more lethal weapon or two. *How to use the patch* The EXE file is a self-extracting ZIP file containing the following files: TILES014.ART - Contains the new artwork for Lo Wang DUKEWANG.TXT - This file GAME.CON - Modified script code USER.CON - " DEFS.CON - " ????.VOC - A whole bunch of *.voc (ie sound) files To use the patch, follow the following procedure: 1) copy DUKEWANG.EXE into your Duke3D directory 2) MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR EXISTING CON FILES !! ie "ren GAME.CON GAME.BAK" etc 3) type "DUKEWANG" AT THE DOS PROMPT, AND THE FILE WILL SELF-EXTRACT 4) type "DUKE3D" to launch, and start fragging Lo Wang! 5) after you're done, rename the backup CON files to restore them For those interested, here is how I created this patch. First, I extracted the *.ART and *.VOC files from the "SW.GRP" file that was part of the shareware version. Next, I used EDITART to extract the 50+ Lo Wang tiles as *.PCX files. The PCX images were about 2X the size of anormal Duke enemy, so I used PaintShop Pro to shrink them and save them as *.GIF files (for some reason, EDITART wouldn't properly read the PCX files after they were edited.) Next, I used EDITART on the Duke3D *.ART files and inserted the Lo Wang tiles beginning at tilenumber 3585. Finally, I modified the three CON files to rewrite the pigcop code and to insert the new sounds.
