It's Canadian Quake, eh? A stupid patch by Mike Gibby - monsoon@vii.com Version history ------------------- 1.0 -- The first and probably only release. Nothing major, just added ", eh?" to the end of everything I could. Story ------------------- So, like, some hosers started coming through this dimensional gate, eh? And so you've decided that you're gonna teach those communist buttheads a thing or two about tryin' to steal your beer. So grab a shotgun and tell 'em to take off, eh? Directions ------------------- 1) Download the patch (duh) 2) Unzip it into its own directory inside of the Quake directory (e.g. C:\QUAKE\CANUCK) 3) Start Quake with the -game parameter like you do with every patch. In my example, it would be C:\QUAKE>quake -game canuck 4) Play Quake like you normally would, and keep an eye out for them Shambler hosers, eh? Credits / Thanks ------------------- Whoever made the Spanish Quake patch - for giving me an idea to poke a little fun at. :-) Ron Jomero [STZ] - for convincing me to actually go through with this (no, that's not John Romero, you dyslexic twit!) those 1337 @$$ d00dz at id - For making Quake cool by itself and so patch-able The McKenzie Brothers and The Red Green Show - for giving me a narrow view of Canadian culture, which I'm sure must be more than a bunch of people sitting around drinking beer, repairing vehicles with duct tape, calling each other hosers, and saying "eh?" after every sentence. The entire nation of Canada - I salute my neighbors in the great white north. You're more than welcome to make a stereotypical Yank Quake. :-) Legalness ------------------- People who want to put this on a CD and sell it should perhaps be shot in an effort to keep stupidity from spreading, but if they really must have it on their "1,001 Ripped Off Quake Patches" CD, they may but only if they have received my express permission. Feel free to distribute this patch free of charge in electronic form, such as uploading it to FTP sites and BBSes (who in their right mind uses BBSes when they have internet access?), dropping it onto a floppy and throwing it at a friend, or using it as filler on a zip disk. Just don't change it. If you want the source code, I might still have it lying around here somewhere (hmm, visions of Canadian CTF...). It's not like it's all that complicated of a patch anyway. :-) This patch is *unsupported*, meaning that if you can't figure out how to use it with the instructions in this readme, then perhaps you shouldn't be trying to use Quake patches.
