Name of Mod : Un-distorted fonts for H3D Quake2 File Name : h3d_font.zip Version : 1.0 Date : March 22, 1998 Author : Todd Purcell, aka XLER8 E-mail : toddp@fuse.net Web Site : http://home.fuse.net/todd/h3d.html Build time : 7 hrs What is it? ----------- H3D Quake2. I been waiting for the patch for this for months and NOW its out! But alas all the text is illegible and the crosshair is wacked.... (grumble, grumble) God bless their stereoscopic hearts, but H3D is a little slow on bugfixes... So I decided to make a new font set and target for H3D mode. And it works beautifully. I can read again! The stereo image resulted in some horizontal lines being cut out, so I redid the fonts to have double the spacing for horizontal lines. Installation Instructions ------------------------- Extract the pak file to your quake2\baseq2\ directory. If you already have a pak9.pak file, rename one of the files (example, rename the H3D pak file to pak8.pak). When you place this pak in your baseq2\ directory, Quake2 can will use the new fonts for all modifications you run. Like Eraser, CTF, etc. * The fonts aren't very pretty in non-H3D Quake2, so you'll probably want to rename the H3D pak file to pak9.OLD for plain old 2D fragging. Thanks ------ Huge thanks to GurkoZ (gurkoz@hem2.passagen.se) for inspiring me to do this. GurkoZ made an rad sound addon that makes the Q2 experience much richer. And his web page - incredible, it has rekindled my faith in web design.
