Released: 12 May 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Title : Stand Off Filename : geckodm1.bsp Author : [MOB] WarGecko (Phipps Daniel Alexander) Email Address : wargecko@mbox4.singnet.com.sg Description : Quake2 Deathmatch Map for up to 5 Additional Credits to : [MOB] Borg, [MOB] Majesto and WoYaoSaSiNi for beta testing ----------------------------------------------------------------- * Play Information * Deathmatch : Designed primarily for 1-1 play, 3-5 person ffa also recommended Settings : This map was meant to be played with coloured lighting and mid- range brightness. I suggest weaponstay on for 5 persons. If you turn on r_speeds and explore the level you will find that it has a very low polygon count (average 250) which means that this level is excellent for laggy net play. * Construction * Build Time : Abt 40 hours Editor(s) used : Worldcraft Other Programs used : Adobe Photoshop for making the MOB textures Wally for converting the textures from PCX to WAL format Known Bugs : Com_sprintf: overflow of 43 in 32 on loading. This is harmless and is caused by the title of the map being too long, and will not affect gameplay. * Other Info * This level was designed for 1-1 play. Its rooms are planned such that stand-offish encounters are encouraged, as opposed to full-on dogflighting. The higher levels, as always, are strategically advantageous, and are even more so in this map due to the location of the powerful weapons there. However, this is balanced by the lack of ammo and health packs on the higher levels so the player has to come down to replenish, and cannot dominate the map just by simply roaming the upper level. The megahealth is situated at the very top level. * Distribution * Authors MAY NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels. This BSP may be distributed ONLY over the Internet and/or BBS systems. You are NOT authorized to put this BSP on any CD or distribute it in any way without my permission.
