====================================================================== Sick Deathmatch Map Pack ====================================================================== Map Filename(s) : sickdm1.bsp - A place to die, A time to die sickdm2.bsp sickdm3.bsp - Plague sickdm4.bsp - Epidemic Author : Cain 'big-brown' Piper capip1@mugc.cc.monash.edu.au Description ===========------ The sick deathmatch pack is solely my creation, and is based in no part on any other authors work. Having said that, let's get on with the proper description... I created sickdm1 somewhere in the middle of april 1998 I think, and after a long time playing and re-compiling the level, I thought I had perfected it, so I went on to make sickdm2. That map (sickdm2) was created in a very short time, and I found it a bit difficult to test the map on my computer because thorough testing required upwards of 8 players, and my computer can't handle 8 bots =( ... Well it was a long time in between sickdm2 and sickdm3, but something came up that I didn't expect, and that was the map contest for Impulse 98. For those of you who don't know about it, it is probably the biggest LAN party / quake2 competition in the southern hemisphere... That prompted me to build sickdm3. I thought 'A small map, not too complicated and just a few weapons....' well it turned out to be a nice little level but not good enough, IMHO. Therefore I created sickdm4. I was tired of all these maps that were based around maybe 1 or 2 main areas, so I made 3 areas of battle... When I completed this map I thought... Maybe I should make a map pack... so here it is. the SICK DM map pack. Enjoy. ====================================================================== Map info... sickdm1 - Medium sized (6-8 players comfortably) sickdm2 - Medium to large (8-12 players comfortably) sickdm3 - Very small (duel or 4 player ffa) sickdm4 - Small to medium (duel or 4-6 player ffa) Installation ============------ Just copy the pak6.pak file into your quake2/baseq2 directory and type 'map sickdmx' into the console where 'x' is replaced by either 1, 2, 3 or 4. This work is supposed to be free, and I'd like to keep it that way, so don't distribute it on any media without my prior permission.
