====================================================================== JakFrost's Stonehenge Demo 3 ====================================================================== Date Recorded: 1999-08-18 07:00 UTC Game Name: Starsiege Tribes Game Version: 1.8 Demo Time: 5 minutes Mission Type: Capture The Flag Mission Name: Stonehenge Player Name: JakFrost Email: jakfrost(at)planetstarsiege(dot)com Website: http://www.planetstarsiege.com/tactical/ Displayed Tactics: Mortar Jumping, Turret Placement, Asset Placement, Mortar Aiming, Asset Destruction ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Description ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is another quick little demo that I cooked up in order to show the awesome power and advantage of knowing how to use the stonehenge on this map properly. This demo shows how to perform a mortar jump with a heavy who is carrying an inventory station to the top of the stonehenge which is in the middle of the map. This demo also shows how to totally devastate all of the enemy assets on this map from the top of the stonehenge while using only 13 mortar rounds in total. I also show two possible ways of setting up a mini base on top of the stone henge. The first type of a base which I build is right on the top of the stonehenge and it has a turret in each corner of the rectangular roof. The inventory station is located somewhere near the middle. Also, a pulse sensor would be very useful if placed on the very top of the stonehenge, but it would be an easy target for any attacker who just happens to notice it. However there is a problem with this base design, it becomes an immediate target to the enemy once discovered and the life span of the inventory station itself and the turrets becomes very short at that point. I have noticed that once an enemy soldier gets killed by one of the four turrets on top of the stonehenge he immediately changes his game focus to destroy the base on top of the stonehenge, very much in a revenge like fashion. The second base design is very much focused on being concealed. The inventory station itself is hidden in the little crevice just below the very top of the stonehenge where no enemies look. The turrets are placed on each side of the crevice just to give an enemy solder a little kick in the back if he decides to fly up or off the stonehenge using that side of it. This design if far more superior to the previous one since it is much harder for the enemy to find the inventory station. The presence of the turrets on each side of the inventory station might alert some knowledgeable enemies so setting up the inventory station alone should also be considered in order to prolong it's life. Personally, I recommend this base design and I use it myself. Also, I just want to mention and recommend a script that I discovered just recently which has improved my mortaring aim and made my life much easier. The script is called mHUG which stands for Mortar Heads Up Display and this script was written by Cowboy. You can find out more about this script and download it at Cowboy's Tribe Scripting Page at http://www.planetstarsiege.com/cowboy/. Get this script, it will make your life much easier when using the mortar launcher. Now. I want to mention the exact aiming marks to use when using the mHUD script in order to destroy the assets on this map. Stand on top of the stonehenge at the very edge of it in the middle of the middle type. These are the marks for the attacking the Diamond Sword base. Use the 75 mark for the plasma turret, 150 mark for the ELF turret, 175 for the pulse sensor, and 175 again for the motion turret while aiming at location on the ground just below it. Now here are the marks when attacking the Blood Eagle side, 75 for the plasma turret, 125 for the ELF turret, second dot below the 150 mark for the pulse sensor, and also second dot below the 150 mark for the motion turret while aiming at the location on the ground just below it. ______________________________________________________________________
