================================================================ Title : STRAIN 1.0 DeathMatch Levels Filenames : straindm.zip Author : The Alpha Dog Alliance ada@iname.com http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Cavern/8528/ (Please send us email if you enjoy STRAIN!) Description : STRAIN DeathMatch levels are specifically designed to use the STRAIN add-on for DOOM II. These levels take special advantage of the tunes, textures, weapons, and even baddies of STRAIN. You should be able to find STRAIN in the same place you found these deathmatch levels. Please visit our web site for download sites. This package contains one wad with 7 new levels and new music to be used with the new baddies, new weapons, and new graphics of STRAIN. Designed for deathmatch play exclusively. All skill levels supported. ================================================================ Play Information =============================================================== The STRAIN DeathMatch series consists of 7 tight DeathMatch levels! The first six are 'fragfest' style. The seventh is a 'manhunt' for those who still enjoy a good DeathMatch with secrets, space, and an evolving landscape over time. The manhunt is best played with four marines. ================================================================ Where To Get This WAD ================================================================ Please check our web site for download information: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Cavern/8528/ ================================================================ Installation ================================================================ First, remember you must own DOOM II and have it installed. Then, you must have STRAIN installed on top of DOOM II. Check our web site for information on obtaining STRAIN if you do not already have it. (It is, of course, FREE.) You need another 1 MB of disk space for STRAIN DeathMatches. Download the file and unzip it as usual. We assume you know how to load up DeathMatches with DOOM II add-ons. That topic would take a while to explain. However remember now, instead of doom2.exe, you must get your strnhack.exe file started. strnhack.exe must include the strain.wad file as well as the straindm.wad file. strain.wad is located in your STRAIN directory wherever you installed it. For example, suppose your STRAIN directory is c:\doom2\strain. Further suppose you put the straindm.wad file in your STRAIN directory. Then you would add the deathmatches like so: cd strnhack -file c:\doom2\strain\strain.wad c:\doom2\strain\straindm.wad Of course, you'll need the special flags for DeathMatch on the last line as well. As far as using DWANGO or your favorite DeathMatch front end, we'll assume you know how to do such advanced steps. ================================================================ Copyright / Permissions ================================================================ Authors should write us (ada@iname.com) to inquire into the use of these levels. You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include this file and the entire STRAIN package, with no modifications. You may distribute STRAIN in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) but no money may be collected for this add-on without writing us for permission. Not even if the money is just to 'recover the cost of the medium.' This obviously includes software compilations. Just write us already. Also, you must keep the STRAIN package intact, including this file. Other than that, enjoy and please spread STRAIN as far and wide as possible! And please write us to let us know what you think or to at least let us know how far it spread! Oh yeah, for the crazies out there who are always after an unearned buck: STRAIN and its installer are provided as is and come with no warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied. In no event will the copyright holders be liable for any damages resulting from the use of this software. ================================================================ The Alpha Dog Alliance ================================================================ Charlie Patterson | Adelusion David Rotramel | Rich Johnston Arthur Chang | Eric Roberts Bjorn Hermans | Jon Landis Bill McClendon | Holger Nathrath Chainsaw | Andy Badorek Florian Helmberger | Darrell Esau Ron Allen | Adam Windsor David Graves | David Davidson Bishop | Stuart Burke Brian Burke | Will Vale Iikka Keranen | David Shaw Mark Klem | Justin Patterson Bob Lindemann | Aaron Koller Xenos | Reid Harmon Frank Buckley | Chris Shullenbarger | John Walker Richard Church | Mister Bungle For FULL credits on who did what, please see our web page (listed at the beggining of this doc). ================================================================ Additional Credits To =============================================================== id Software, Greg Lewis (Dehacked), Ben Morris (DCK), Antony J.Burden and Simon Oke (DETH), Marc Rousseau (ZenNode) Olivier Montanuy (WinTex) ================================================================
