Description : Crikey mate! It's Pacifist Paradise Secret Santa 3!
(Known by some as PPSS3: DOWN UNDA!), a 35-map
                          MBF21-compatible """"""""""Christmas wad""""""""""
and sequel to last year's PPSS2. It wasn't really
heavily delayed for a variety of reasons kind of
partly my fault, the wad is just Australian! I think.
I don't know, I don't live there. Everyone made an
individual prompt, and then made a map for someone
else's, and at the end everyone unboxed their map.
Map styles range from "Relaxing Exploration" to
"Chill slaughter" to "the utterly deranged and/or
puzzles that make you utterly deranged". Merry
                          Australian Christmas!

/// EPISODE 1: CHRISTMAS ROUND THE BARBIE ///

MAP01 : JakubM Can Dance Himself To Hell
Author : DeetOpianSky
Gift for : Jakub Majewski
Music : Bring Me The DeetSco King by DeetOpianSky, ASMR cover of Dick in
           a Box by DeetOpianSky
Prompt : Fave wads: Eternal Doom, Phocas Island 2, Hedon, 666ecrets, maybe
           All Hell's Breaking Loose

-If you are cabapble, try to recreate a real-life location in the
           Doom format.
-I am not a fan of slaughter, so I'd rather the author makes
something that focuses on adventure, exploration, perhaps even puzzle
           solving.
-Don't hide the super shotgun behind a secret, or have it unlocked
3/4ths into the map, please. Make the weapons stand out and not be
           obscured by the level geometry.
-Please include some secrets, a map with 0 secrets is something I
           view as lazy.
-Use custom music; get a bit creative and use something ELSE than a
MIDI(module trackers, MP3, even emulated video game formats; can even
sing something yourself). Using music changers would be nice too.
-Don't be shy to use some obscure, lesser known Boom/MBF features.
-It's Christmas season, obviously, but in addition to that, some
references to the Hanukkah, or even the Kwanzaa would be nice too.
-I love personal silly easter eggs (like that time pcorf used a
texture of himself in the bathtub). Sector art is based.
-Not obligatory, but having a custom dehacked actor would be nice.
The shittier the sprites, the more amused I am.
-If you're willing to use custom textures, feel free to go crazy.
Map Notes: Happy Holidays!

MAP02 : I Mildly Enjoy Christmas.
Author : Jakub Majewski

Music : I Fucking Love Christmas (ft. Doug Walker) by Rob Scallion

           DOOMCute/Sector art heavy set pieces.
           Non-sr50 platforming.
           IWAD to light/non-grind microslaughter difficulty.

           Favorite (Doom) midi/MOD music:
"Period appropriate" midis - Usually within 5 years prior to or
           after the original release(s).
           Weird bends and guitar effects.
           Rarely heard instruments.
           Original compositions - any genre/period.
MOD, OGG or other formats - Any genre/period.
Thematic pieces that relate to the map title or set pieces.

MAP03 : The Caco Wears Prada
Author : DeetOpianSky
Gift for : WalterC
Music : Cartoon Heroes by Aqua Sequenced by Kim Winther, Running with the
Devil by Van Halen, Demons on the Prey by Robert Prince III (this
is a midi version I found on DW forums that may differ slightly
from the og DOOM1 track., Vogue by Madonna, Sequenced by Rob Durfee,
K02 is from Viper V16 - the credits say archiver: pelya
Prompt : Favorite map genres/tropes: IWAD-like difficulty or easy microslaughter
if you want to choose to make a slaughtermap; doomcute overdose, otaku
references, music based maps, in name only maps, maps with weird
limitations of lines/sectors/map size/textures/vertices usage, sector
art, twisted realities where two or more macrothemes joins togheter,
sort of semi-realistic areas randomly found, IWAD inspired areas, 1994
user wads inspired areas, 256 light + Sector effect 8, trippy drastic
changes between some sections, impressive things with stock textures,
gigantic fleshy creature in the void; secret that are kind easy to
find and have a big reward inside them; insane game hacks/tricks using
           vanilla engine or limit removing.

Favorite (Doom) midi/MOD music: Energetic or gloomy, every genre it's
ok except of too harsh earbleed stuff. I prefer rock/eletronic/pop
           sounds in general.

Favorite color: Red, but all other colors are good too, i don't have strong
           preferences about that.

Favourite (doom) music/midis: Stewboy, metal, synthwave, ambient
           Favourite colour: Plutonia

Prompt : Favorite Doom wads : Speed of Doom, Sunlust, Scythe 2, Alien Vendetta
Favourite genres/tropes: Based in the wads i've mentioned, i want
a cool Doom map, that is aesthetic, i like also tech maps... What
i like is that make a cool map that is beatable, have fun combat,
you can make it challenging but not impossible levels of challenging,
use the wads i mentioned as a reference to balance challenge and fun
maps... go creative, make it fun... Also cool secrets, make them cool
           and awesome to find.

Favourite (doom) music/midis: Anything that is Metal or well Electronic
           music.

My favorite midis : The doom world is flat (Decino), Legion of the
lost techno remix (by Varis Alpha) also i've been listening a lot to
Daft punk, so a cool Daft punk midi if you wish, my favorite Daft

i challenge you to make aesthetic map or tron lines if you wish...
but im happy with anything ❤️
Map Notes: UV is pretty chill, HMP is even more chill, HNTR is a completely
separate slaughter map I felt like making because of the inf BFG
comment, so make sure to play in both difficulties -v-

MAP06 : Snowy Nuru-Space
Author : Chuma

A Warrior Reborn - Tristan Clark
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: Didn't have anything specific in mind this
time around, so do whatever you want, but at least make the map fit
the music listed below thx :)
Favourite music/midis: That one unused music from FNaF World for
the map's intro/outro section, any of Tristan Clark's midis for the
           main section of the map
Favourite colour: Green and yellow, but this time lean more towards
           yellow if possible
Map Notes: Nuru, to play the map you require my version of the resources...
           everything is in this drive.

I found someone who did some FNaF piano arrangement midis and ...
           your wish got granted there

And can't miss Tristan Clark ... which track, find out... readme
           is a mockup.

MAP07 : A (Seemingly) Normal Techbase
Author : NuruTheDoomer
Gift for : ThatWenGuy
Music : "Backroad Wanderer" by David Shaw, "Enter The Red Moon" by Isotype
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: "a lot of chaingunner" trap,
"multiple arch-viles" trap, "100+ revenants" trap, hot start,
confusing layout, short length, techbase, bfg spam, cyberdemon
in a small room, hitscanner spam, arch-vile where there's no
hiding spot from their devil magic, very few health pick up,
exit visible to the player immediately, challenging fights, a

death pits, a secret where you'll lose health for finding it,
a exit with a very tight platforming to the exit switch, fun
           level
Favourite (doom) music/midis: fast midi, speed metal, thrash
metal, power metal, hardcore punk, whatever,
Favourite colour: red, blue, aqua, bad color combination
Map Notes: Happy Holidays! @wen
The first half of the map is what you would expect from the
prompt, the second half on the other hand... Well, see it
           for yourself I guess :v
Should take between 10-15 minutes to finish

MAP08 : I melted fuchsia into a water on the middle of the forest
Author : ThatWenGuy
Gift for : stephyesterday
Music : SCRAPPING.MID by ZZZV
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: cramped rocket-launcher micro-slaughter
with lots of revs and cacos is a staple for me, but i also love
some low-key exploration in weird or complex environments. i like
progression that's confusing or at least interesting, throw in
lots of platforming (gimmicks welcome and preferred) that fits in
with the map's visual theming. forests with huge sector trees,
hostile iron dungeons, and brick-covered abandoned towns shrouded
in darkness are some favorite settings. i like worlds more than
           maps.

           Favourite (doom) music/midis: zan-zan-zawa-veia, cheeseymozarella,
msx2plus, midi covers of real-ass songs, or weird and wack midis
or mods you randomly stumble upon that you think are cool or
invoke a neat atmosphere. i trust your judgement.

Favourite colour: mint green and fuchsia, doom doesn't have these
so either take those as a vibe influence or use lots of dark
           red/brick red and greens.
Map Notes: happy new, err, christmas @steph-easy_setup_guide.pdf

MAP09 : Esoteric Ceramics Shipping & Handling
Author : stephyesterday
Gift for : bsharp
Music : David Shaw - unknown track (MAP17 from STRAIN)
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: anything weird, nonlinear, abstract,
surreal, atmospheric, liminal, vast, and/or labyrinthine. i'm rusty
at most slaughter but i like the rocket launcher. prefer low-spice
encounters and incidental combat but design as you wish; it's yours
           to map. slightly-above-plutonia is comfortable
i like angular and highly interconnected spaces, c.f. everything i've
released lolol. also much like creative vanillatex use a lot, would
really hope to see. whatever you do these are just suggestions, i
hope you enjoy making the map above all :3

Favourite (doom) music/midis: 90s midis have my heart but anything
           goes

           Favourite colour: whatever yours is
Map Notes: Sorry for the wait! Burnout and working on the other secret santa
definitely put a major hold on this (i should not have signed up for
both lol) but I think this turned out pretty alright. Heavy vanilla
tex usage, some verticality, and incidental-ish combat abound. Hope
           you enjoy!

MAP10 : Auburn Hollows
Author : Hebonky
Gift for : NootsyNootsy
Music : LOL2-12.mid from lands of lore 2
Prompt : genre/tropes: non linear and weird yet cohesive environments. silly
           fights :)

EDIT: also, puzzle maps, mysteriousness, funny platforming secrets that
use environment that doesn't seem like it should be climbable

music: more atmospheric or emotive, fit with the tone of the map

           color: warm tones

Edit: also cool tones I don't care I like forests in real life I wish
           doom had good ones
Map Notes: probably some of my best work.

MAP11 : forpetyan_withammo
Author : NootsyNootsy
Gift for : Petyan
Music : Rain Rain Windy Windy by Kyle Gabler
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: honestly whatever, just put a zerk and if you
make map with monsters put a bunch of ammo (don't add specters i can't
           see them)
Favourite (doom) music/midis: something not really used in doome or
unusual choices (prefer stuff on calmer side)
Favourite colour: gray and yellow but they don't look that good together
so just something that looks nice
Map Notes: Hi merry christmas... or something...

The instructions were somewhat vague so I followed them... loosely.
There's a few mostly useless berserks... there is slight more ammo
than I wanted to put in, sort of makes the map easier than I wanted..
idk. And I took the colors yellow and gray and made them white and
brown. You can decide if it looks nice :)
And of course, no spectres... the whole map is kinda dark though

           <3

exploration (minimal platforming; nothing cooked), gimmicky
gameplay set-ups,game design that makes logical sense, light
sequences, Doomcute, environmental storytelling, realistic (liminal)
places, realistic locales contrasted by the surreal, cold starts,
(for winter in particular) the reminder that winter is unforgiving,
themes that hit close to home (nostalgia), isolated feeling.
Favorite Music: For doom in particular, I like music that fits the
tone of the map. Given what I've prompted above, go for something
that gives a melancholic atmosphere. It can be midi or OGG as long
           as it hits the spot.
Favorite Color: Black, Deep Blue, Off-White
Map Notes: Hi hello hi sorry for taking too long
the og mapper dipped so i took their place

Music : "Gigabridge" by Stewboy
Prompt : **Favorite genre/Trope**: Slaughter, combat puzzle.
Prefer Rocket Launcher, Plasma based stuff, or maybe BFG near end
of map. Big architecture. also Void maps. Lock in Fights over
Incidental combat. Also like faster paced abstract style layout.
One of my favorite wads is Capybara. And when I think semi speed
maps i think of that wad.

**Favorite Doom music/midis** : Slower ambient music.

Or faster upbeat music, electronic sounding, Psyrus basically.

**Favorite Color**: Red, or Teal (not picky on theme, just hate
clashing of primary colors in maps like first mappers otex slop)
Map Notes: HI. I should not have agreed to make a second map, but I did anyways.
This map plays with your prompt quite a bit, it's less proper combat
puzzles and tight progression and more map-spanning macro-slaughter.
You asked for lock in fights and no incidental-combat so I foolishly
thought "what could make incidental combat fun" and thus was born
horrible time pressure, stress, and confusion.

I also took red or teal into orange/teal, portal colors yay! The music
is map 28 from ancient aliens idk mans :0

I hope you enjoy the map and its eccentricities, but I do want to make
a more normal and interesting slaughtermap now too. 😵 image.png

curvy/irregular shapes, verticality & overlapping paths, area reuse,
           optional, content

Favourite music: whatever fits the mood of the map

           Favourite colours: purple, yellow, teal
Map Notes: Merry Christmas!! @eater29

I really enjoyed working on this and it was nice to practice a more

Music : "Sanctuary" by Korp
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: Non linearity, baby cybers, rocket fights, weird
interconnected layouts with lots of height and different routes. hive mothers,
plasma combat, Funny secrets (Kept purposefully vague) fights with a central
gimmick. NOT IMPOSSSIBLE CORE. (edit: I forgot platforming)
Favourite (doom) music/midis: black metal but I can go for anything
           Favourite colour: whatever looks cool
Map Notes: Tried fitting most of your prompt into this map. Couldn't find a nice black
metal track but hopefully this fits the map anyways. Expect some cramped fights
and some light gimmicks here and there. Included are a modified (v4 :xddx:)

Music : Challenge by LPad, Mr. Kill Myself by Sewerslvt
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: Maps that are atmospheric, fun to get lost in and
loop around into themselves a lot. Doesn't need to be long, 10-20 min is
perfectly fine! but feel free to make it as long as you want. I love
platforming if feel like including it. Challenging combat, slaughter and/or
small scale puzzle stuff (think SWTW and Magnolia). Spidermasterminds, I
love seeing them used as area denial, turrets or generally respected (Combat
Shock map02 for example). I enjoy Hive Mothers, Mini-cybers, Afrits,
Arachnorbs and Magnolia Eyes if you wanna use custom monsters (you don't
have to). Secrets that are obscure and rewarding to find but give you
ultimately nothing, things like health bonuses and the like (normal secrets
are fine too!). I love collecting items. At the end of the day, I'd just ask
you to make something with whichever of these things inspires you, you could
make a platforming only map (Burj Khalifa is top10 ever), a nomo collectathon,
pure slaughter, open-ended combat ala TOTG03 or a weirdo F&T-like. Just have
fun and make something you like as well!

Favourite (doom) music/midis: Ribbiks, zzzv, Psyrus, Blurryboy, System Shock,
harp, odd time signatures, singable melodies. If you like mods, I lean
towards dnb and ambient. But prioritize something that fits the map! Feel
free to surprise me if it doesn't follow any of these.

Favourite colour: Orange, green, blue, black. You don't need to use them
tho, I like anything as long as it has a cohesive color theme and not a
           lot of clashing stuff.

Prompt : Favorite Genre/Tropes: Hardcore BFG slaughter, hardcore cramped BFG slaughter,
hardcore RL only fights (drain cells before those fights so a player is forced
to only use RL), medium platforming, Sunder-like progression mixed with
atmospheric progression. Prime map examples of gameplay and progression -
           Death in Excess map16, Hardfest 2 map40, Sunder map20.
Favorite Music: End of Summer by Tristian Clark, Aorta by Tristian clark.

Map Notes: Merry Christmas, Inferno!

The first part of this map is some extremely cramped BFG slotter.
The second part is a fairly lengthy Icon of Sin segment using your
monster sorter to (I think) great effect! @Crusador03 kindly
playtested it and gave it his seal of approval.

This map is very difficult, but I hope you enjoy it! Cheers!

Music : Of Serpents Nailed to Fate, by Cammy
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes:
           Gameplay:
Big maps, long maps, huge maps, gigantic maps, gargantuan maps,
"pretentious" and "megalomaniac" magnum opus maps. I do like shorter
levels too, anything that fits into 5min ~ 120min playlength is
           cool.
Interconnectivity and verticality (optionally non-linearity). Big
and open spaces. Reusing/revisiting previous rooms.
Chaotic run-and-gun with high amount of enemies and items.
Chaingun/Plasma based incidental combat. Layouts that are fun to just
           run around.
Macroslaughter. Chill BFG spam. Single fight with thousands of
enemies. I prefer floor viles over turret viles.
           Projectile spam fights like Italo MAP20, HR2 MAP29 or APF MAP12 :).
Ridiculously big and spammy fights that somehow don't take too long
           to cleanup.
           I'm bad at platforming/movement, but I enjoyed Sunder MAP11's
           platforming section.
I would really appreciate if the map doesn't have any shotgunners xddx

           Aesthetics:
Hell castles and hell caves. Hell cathedrals and Hell caverns even.
REDROCK. Sector arch spam. Floor detail spam. DV2/NT style maps.
           HR2-esque brown ruins.
Antaresian techbase. Blocky megastructures. Plutonian bricks. Brutalism.
Heaven. Snow. Natural landscape with a lot of trees.
I love it when the map has multiple visual themes. From techbase into
landscapes into cities into caves into castles, etc.
Sector arts, silly shapes like stars or hearts.

some of my fave wads\mappers are: Altitude, DV2, Evit1&2, NT, antares,
           mouldy, HiMyNameIsChair, skillsaw, mechadon

Favourite (doom) music/midis: Long and epic progressive rock, ambient,
anything Stewboy/Korp/LPad/AD79/Cammy would make. Outside of Doom midis
I like Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Dan Terminus, other Hotline Miami
2 ish stuff. I'm not really picky with musics though, whatever works
           with the map is fine

Favourite colour: Pink <3, pastel colours in general, white, gray,
neon green, monochrome with light variation, black+red, white+red,
           black+white, black+gold, blue+gold, brown+green

Favourite colour: A mix of blue and pink/purple, if that's not possible then
           blue and green.

Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: Moderate non-linearity, difficulty similar to
           Eviternity II's Celestial chapter. (Especially maps 26, 27 and 36) If it's
slaughter, it doesn't take hours to beat and it's playable without abusing
saves, ABSOLUTELY NO REWINDS OR SLOW-MOTION. Marble, wood, torches,
bookshelves inside the buildings; trees, grass, water/lava, gray rock floors
           and SP_ROCK1/ROCKRED1 outside.
Favourite (doom) music/midis: Hell Revealed II, Hell to Pay, stuff from the
Mod Archive (i suck at naming genres so i'll send the file with some of my
           favorites as an example)
           Favourite colour: White, Green, Red/Blue

Music : "Battle of the Gods" by Knightrider of Doom
Prompt : Favourite genres/tropes: slotter, uhhhhh, big maps, small maps, weird maps,
racing maps, silly gimmicks, weird nomo adventures, heartfelt moodmaps, most
importantly - whatever you want to express, but also castles, I love castles,
           quake ruined my tastes.
Trees and other nature things are nice, especially when mixed with tech stuff
in unusual ways. Also ALLCOLOR stuff or similarly bright stuff is always good,
whether or not it's an accent or the main theme. And wild bookcases.
Basically varied and contrasting ideas/themes are my fave, e.g. stuff that
combines relatively grounded architecture with abstract/surreal stuff, or fleshy
stuff in the middle of a techbase, or different styles of gameplay, etc.
Also if there's a HMP option, that's always cool because I'm not that good at
doome, but don't worry about it if it's hassle, I'll just rewind spam or iddqd
           if I have to lol.
If you get stuck for inspiration, you can always just copy paste an entire
section of a Sunder map too if you want to, since there's no specific rule
against it for this project afaik.
for legal reasons, the preceding sentence was a joke, it is one of my fave wads
           though

Favourite (doom) music/midis: pretty much anything by Knightrider of Doom, prog
rock, black/death/doom/thrash/power metal, dnb, breakcore, hypertrance, lofi,
retro-gamey, touhou, zzzv, speedcore, happy hardcore, happy beecore, solemn
ribbikscore, now I'm just saying wordscore, as by stevie wonder

Favourite colour: Purple, black, yellow, green, red, blue, (maybe in that order
Idk), bright high contrast primary colours make brain happy, subtle shades and
pastel shades are nice too though, go wild

           also hive mothers from sunder
Map Notes: Hi hello hi!!! Happy holidays!!!
Sorry for not making it due Christmas though

BFG spam, cyber 2-shotting, lots of Health and ammo (don't hesitate to add
           an infinite BFG), skeleton spam.

Favorite (doom) music/midis: classic megawad or video game OSTs, mod/ogg files,
           ear-blasting Degrassi/JF1 49-style tracks if appropriate

Favorite color: I honestly don't care, you can go wild or just make it full

Don't hesitate to take a look at my work here:

natural formations, weird stairs, ledgecrawls. small scale
cyber/rev/archie driven BFG slaughter. (esp. with redrock 😁)
intricate projectile dodging driven fights, slaughter (or small
scale crowd based fights) where you can't faceplant crowds to
easily solve space issues due to tight health, """bullethell""",
reality slaughter, okuploky shit etc. easy flowy platforming
and easy flowy rocketjumps. intentionally designed obscure
progression, "where do I go/how do the mechanics of this map
function to allow me to go places" puzzles (as opposed to "play
checkers in doom" puzzles). Big nonlinear exploration maps with
biting combat. Open ended activate as you like actioney maps
like SL18 and TOTG03. Bizarre punishments for taking resources.
General resource tightness if it drives interesting strategic
approach to a map or rewards projectile avoidance that is
           usually unimportant in doom maps.

puzzles, 90s era point & click game logic / 1994 Maxdoom slop era
mapping tropes; junk soul (colormap crimes, intentional HOMs,

efficiency, slaughter where resources matter, infighting combat, berserk
           combat, autoscrollers w/ consistent speed
Favorite (doom) music/midis: My music tastes are relatively diverse,
thought i tend to like 'video game' music and classical music more
often than not and a lot of more modern genres rarely 'click' for me,
not really specialist when it comes to genre names 👴
, for midis most are fine really, just see the stuff i pick for my
own maps basically, bonus points though if midi is picked before
           mapping though
Favorite color: Purple, but i don't mind other colors either generally

Prompt : genre/tropes: non linear and weird yet cohesive environments. silly
           fights :)

EDIT: also, puzzle maps, mysteriousness, funny platforming secrets that
use environment that doesn't seem like it should be climbable

music: more atmospheric or emotive, fit with the tone of the map

           color: warm tones

Edit: also cool tones I don't care I like forests in real life I wish
           doom had good ones
Map Notes: I gave the best on following the music preference and the color...
the map is still Chumastic aesthetic but i tried not to overblow the
light textures or the "neon lights" in fact i converted grayvr textures
to use it as "soft color" neon lights.

I tried sticking with a bit of mountain-y parts and mountain textures
to practice some sort of Environment, i think i did the best i could.
