The Homeless House by ]B.C[ Pingu =============================== 17th April 1998 ================ Title : The Homeless House Filename : bcdm4.bsp Author : B.C ]Pingu[ (* Alex Moore *) Email Address : A.J.Moore-96@student.lboro.ac.uk Description : My attempt at a decent sized DM level, instead of all the duel maps I seem to have done before (ie, BCDM1-3). Additional Credits to : id of course.... everyone in the B.C clan for playtesting David 'crt' Wright for Rocket Arena, from which I've used quite a few textures (but none of the 'dodgy' ones). His e-mail - wrightd@stanford.edu Slayer of 'X' because his DM maps rock. Steven Polge for the reaper bots, a good alternative when your mates are revising. Homepage : http://butlerclan.base.org Other maps by me : BCDM1 - The Spiral BCDM2 - The Ledge BCDM3 - Long Walk Ickle Twelve - Twelve Minutes Play Information ================ Game : Classic Quake Single Player : Only to have a look around Cooperative : No Deathmatch : 16 starts Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No New Quake c : No Demos Replaced : No Construction ============ Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : Worldcraft 1.5b Known Bugs : Jumping for the RL, if you miss you sometimes get stuck on an invisible ledge. Which I didn't build. Just walk off.. Also there's supposed to be a difference in how far you can jump between versions of quake. Quakeworld is recommended for DM play cause it's the best, and the 'jump and hit your head' secret is easilly made in it. In WINQuake it's also easilly made, but in dos quake I just can't seem to make it... Build Time : Blitzed it in three days, 'bout 15 hours. Texture Wad used : texture.wad, arena textures and ctf Compile machine : A P166 mmx with 64mb RAM, etc etc... QBSP Time : Didn't count Light Time : 388 seconds VIS (-level 4) Time : 3266 seconds (how long????) GLquake compatible : Yup, but not vis'd for water cause vis takes 55 minutes.... Other Info ========== This is the fourth map in the butler trilogy, which seems silly because trilogy means 3 of. Hence the reason it's called the Homeless House - it doesn't have a home. Ahhh. You'll notice similarities between this and Slayer's DM maps, and that's purposeful as Slayer's maps are stupendously good. However it's not quite as big, and certainly not as detailed. Still a good blast though. Reason I made it so fast was because I actually planned it out on paper first, and stuck to that design. Amazing stuff paper. Coming Soon =========== Dunno yet, depends what pops into my head I guess.
