First Release: 04/21/97 Last Release: 05/19/97 ================================================== Title : The Blue Death Filename : Bdeath.bsp Author : Adriano Lorenzini Email Address : bib2002@iperbole.bologna.it Description : This level has been made for the QuakeCon 97 DM Map Contest, that is, for a 1 on 1 tournament play. It satisfies all the required features: there are NOT either power-ups or secret rooms or places to hide. Items are placed wisely and the map is built for allowing a very intensive DM where opponents have to be able to do circle strafing, jumping and rocket jumping as well.I took care of NOT adding any useless "brushes" preventing you from an high speed game, this map runs as smooth as silk even on GLquake and you will NEVER end up stucked on a wall, even running backward. The rocket launcher is kinda useless in the "open" areas, a good player can always kill you with a supershotgun. This map allows a fair play, the individual skill is the key. Let's go to kick some ass now! Would you like to play my map with the Hipnotic's weapons? If both answers are "yes" i've got good news for you. I've added 4 .map files, each of them contains a different list of entities so that if you like you have the possibility of playing "The Blue Death" with 4 different weapons dispositions: - hipnotic.map ---> Clear, isn't it? Of course you also need the Mission Pack One - quad.map ---> For substituting the RL with a Quad Damage - megajump.map ---> It will add a new cool power-up, of course you also need the "megajump" patch for getting working. It's avalaible on: http://quake.shiny.it/ - default.map ---> For getting back to the original disposition Updating map's entities is very easy, all you need is the QBSP utility (you can d/l it from http://quake.shiny.it/) and all you have to do is to follow a few steps. For instance, if you want to play "The Blue Death" with the Hipnotic's weapons then you have to: i) put both QBSP and hipnotic.map under the same dir where the bdeath.bsp file is ii) rename the hipnotic.map file to bdeath.map iii) run a dos-prompt and type: qbsp -onlyents bdeath That's all!
