================================================================ Title : Central Park West Date : April - May 1997 Filename : cenparw.bsp Author : Benson "El-Magoo" Russell Email Address : El-Magoo@msn.com Editor used : Worldcraft version 1.3 - Registered Description : This level was designed for the QuakeCon 97 Level contest. I unfortunately realized about half way through making it that it was a little on the big size for 1 on 1. But when I tested it with my friends, they all liked it as a big multiplayer map so I kept it the way it is :). It supports about 12 players nicely. There are no power artifacts in the level because the rules for the contest required that, and I haven't had the time to re-edit it to put them in. There are a lot of little touches that went into this level that should be noted for ease of play. The entire level is "lip" friendly meaning that there are clip brushes on just about every harsh lip that you could get caught on to "peal" you in a straight line of travel. Also, if you look at the layout, there's one central room, and for corner rooms. Each teleporter in the central room takes you to it's respective corner room. Notice the runes by each teleporter, the same runes are located at the entrance to each of the corner rooms (so once you learn which runes go where, you can navigate the level better. It also makes it easier to learn). The last point to make, if you split the level vertically from a top-down perspective, you'd have two halves. One half of the level has a dark blue studded metal trim around it, the other half has a rusted rune metal trim around it. This will also help guide you around the level and help you to identify where you are. Additional Credits to : Squirrel for getting me interested in Doom and level editing way back when :). ================================================================ * Legal Stuff * I ask that you please don't distribute this level in a modified format without my consent first. I'm always open to critisism on architecture, layout, items, monster placement, etc.... Basically, I like feedback so I can hopefully do a better job next time around :). *** End of text file ***
