Fun. Additional Credits to : id Software for Quake, Ben Morris for World- craft, Preacher for the inspiration for the fatass column in the middle (idea from basewalk.bsp), and anyone else who inspired me or gave me constructive criticism. ============================================================ * Play information * Single Player : nope Cooperative 2-8 Player : heh, a coop arena level (that's a no) DeathMatch 2-16 Player : not really (seeing as I put clip brushes in so you eediots can't fall into the arena :P Rocket Arena : yeah (I just had to stick that in there) Difficulty Settings : hell no New Sounds : no New Graphics : sorta, I cludged a new light using one of id's textures New Music : no, go away CD Track : 6 (I forget why) Demos Replaced : no Source Included : no, but source is available on request Anything else new : you smell ============================================================ * Construction * Base : new level from scratch Editor(s) Used : various versions of Worldcraft (I think I started this level when it was around 1.1 or something and never finished it until now.) Texture Wad : metal.wad Build Time : uh... I really have no idea Compile Machine : p75 with 40 megs of ram (gawd I need a new cpu) Compile Info : TreeQBSP: 25.490 seconds ArghLite: not sure, around 5 min I think FastVis: 189.0 seconds ReMipDLX: 9.0 seconds Known Bugs : not that I know of (if you see one, tell me so I can come kill you for being so per- ceptive) ============================================================ * Notes * Worldcraft was doing some weird stuff with the textures on the 45° walls. I guess it alligns textures from one side of the plane and QBSP does it from the other. Kinda annoying cause I noticed that AFTER I vised the level (DOH!) so I had to open it back up and deliberately misalign my textures in Worldcraft so they would be alligned in Quake. Oh well... That big fatass column in the middle is based on the one in basewalk. That pillar is so much fun in dm, especially one on one. So of course, I stole the idea and will now proceed to take all the credit for it, muhahahahaha. Or not. :) ============================================================ * How to run this level * You shouldn't need to "run" this level, seeing as Rocket Arena is multiplayer only, see? And if you're smart enough to run a server server for it, you better friggin know how to change the level. Or if all else fails just go outside and dance around naked in the sprinkler with a carrot in your ass or something. ============================================================ * Legal Mumbo Jumbo * This level may only be distributed over the Internet or on a BBS or whatnot, and only then if the text file remains INTACT and UNMODIFIED. (sorry bout the caps but I like to add EMPHASIS to words I deem important, so there) This level may NOT be put onto any kind of a cd-rom without my permission IN WRITING (and a no-response is NOT considered a "yes" by me). If you want to put this ol' thing on a cd, you're probably on crack anyways, considering that it's an arena map and all that neato stuff. Also, since I modified that one texture, that's even more incentive not to do "bad stuff" with the level. ============================================================ * Other crap I felt like throwing in * ---BSP Info-- version 1.1 --------------------- C:\GAMES\QUAKEED\MAPS\CHRA01.BSP 328 planes 6560 1401 vertexes 16812 341 nodes 8184 213 texinfo 8520 1005 faces 20100 1245 clipnodes 9960 183 leafs 5124 1468 marksurfaces 2936 3963 surfedges 7926 2859 edges 11436 0 textures 173084 lightdata 58019 visdata 4121 entdata 10992 --------------------- ============================================================ * Where to get this BSP * ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/quake/ somewhere in there :) ============================================================ * The End* And they all lived happily ever after.
