D i M e B o X - The Text File [c]1997 Text file assembled by Centaura - DiMeBoX Death Priest and P.R. Administrator This collection of .BSP's was brought to you by Clan DiMeBox, da happenin' clan of Whangarei. While the goal was always to have levels available for the October Auckmaggedon, we felt that our creative application would benefit the Quake community on a much larger scale. We spread peace through assertive violence. Kill everyone else, and who's left to start a war???? What we have for you here is a varied collection of levels from the varied collection of Quake maniacs that make up DiMeBoX. There are the hard nuts, balls-to-the-walls levels, reminiscent of DM4, as well as more tactful levels based along the lines of DM3 and DM6. NB: Our levels do not support CTF - cos we suck at CTF :Þ Clan DiMeBoX membership is currently as follows: * fRAG-M0N * * Centaura * * PhaNToM * * PastorLove * * HeKTiK * * fremen * * Mandrake * * Leester * I can assure you, we're all really nice people........sort of :} For more trivial clan crap, check out our page at: http://crash.ihug.co.nz/~dimebox To install these levels simply unzip the file into your Quake\id1\maps directory, or QW\maps, if you love playing Quakeworld (we're praying for you). Don't go installing them into your Win95 directory, cos your bound to lose them the next time you reinstall Windoze. :} If you have trouble installing these levels, you should be institutionalised. Credits and brief descriptions for the levels - please note that the levels do flow in sequential order, and that the last level loops back to DiMeBoX 1. We did this because we care. JUNN AFTERMATH DiMeBoX 1 - Author: fRAG-M0N. This level is based on DM6 and has a very similar look and feel to it. Whats more, it has more than one rocket pack. :} CEMETERY GATES DiMeBoX 2 - Author: Centaura. I was supposed to base this level on DM4, but i got a bit carried away and started chucking any old texture in. This level is suited for a Free For All game, the large rooms make it a bit crap for 1 on 1's. PHANTOM'S FORTRESS DiMeBoX 3 - Author: PhaNToM. Based on E1M2. A relatively small to medium sized level that is well suited for both 1 on 1's and Free For Alls. DEATH CHURCH RISING DiMeBoX 4 - Author: Centaura. Textures are based on E1M5. Medium sized level, with lots of water, and is suitable in either a 1 on 1 or Free For All situation. PRIMITIVE FUTURE DiMeBoX 5 - Author: Centaura. Based on E2M5, with the water parts based on the E2 secret. Small to Medium level. Was supposed to be a Free For All level, but is quite good for 1 on 1's as well :} ZOANTHROPIC PARANOIA DiMeBoX 6 - Author: Mandrake. Ummmm. I have absolutely no idea what this level is based on. But hey! Lets give Mandrake credit for being original. *clap* *clap*. Small level. Really loose. Don't expect much in the way of tactics. LEPER MESSIAH DiMeBoX 7 - Author: Centaura. This level was sort of based on DM6 in layout, DM2 in textures, and Zerstroyer DM1 in feel. Sort of a mongrel crossbreed level. Not really suited for 1 on 1's, but is ideal for Free For All and shines as a teamplay level. PLEASURE AND PAIN DiMeBoX 8 - Author: Centaura The most chaotic level you will ever play in this lifetime. I made this level, so people don't accuse me of just making big and complicated levels. This one is definetly NOT for the faint hearted. You will soon see why I named this level Pleasure and Pain :} Further Credits: Clan DiMeBoX affiliates would collectively like to thank all da great metal bands around the world (Pantera, Tool, White Zombie, Machine Head etc...) for giving us the courage to carry on when it seemed we would falter. Except PhaNToM, who would like to thank Neil Diamond for being his guiding light. :} Thanks to all the awesome Quakers around da country, and especially those who cabbage on #QuakeNZ, for testing the levels and saying how crap they were. You know who you are!! The DiMeBoX logo textures conception and design: fRAG-M0N Technical Advisor: Mandrake :} " The DiMeBoX level collection is dedicated to all those who have fallen, those who got up again, and those that have yet to fall.
