DKQ2DM1 - Spiced up version of my RECOGNYZ.BSP. We like to call it the Disco of Death!! Everything centers on a large square platform, floating in slime. You can jump over to one of four L-shaped ledges housing the big guns, if you like... Or you can blast those who try (everybody spawns by a shotgun)! If you miss or fall off, you're in the ooze and the only way out is through one of the many teleporters that all go to the main one in the middle of the platform (telefrags a plenty!). And for those who REALLY like to tempt fate, there is a BFG directly under the center of the floating platform. To get it, you'll need the environmental suit that nobody in their right mind is going to let you have! You have to perform a series of jumps to get to it. DKQ2DM2 - Fixed version of my EKIM.BSP (there was a bug in it before that would sometimes teleport you into a solid wall. Fixed that!). The level is built around a large central pit in which there is a ton of weapons, including the feared BFG. When the button in an overlooking cave gets triggered, all exits from the central area seal off and lava comes spewing forth from a vent under the BFG! After waiting just long enough to fry whomever was unfortunate enough to have gotten caught in it, the lava oozes back down, the exits reopen, and the trap resets. DKQ2DM3 - Spiced up version of my XUPKES.BSP (you can now fry the quad camper with lava). This level is a rocket launcher's paradise! A rocky maze littered with rocket launchers.. Those with itchy trigger-fingers will spaz and self-frag, making this level a great place for people with control to show off! If you're lucky, you'll find one of the grenade launchers or the quad damage and get a ton o' frags lobbing grenades over the walls. Not to mention that if you manage to get on top of the maze, you're in GREAT shape! DKQ2DM4 - Enhanced version of my SLEINAD.BSP. I have totally redone the lighting effects on this one (and it looks much better!). This map is a large arena with an extremely deep pit in the middle. Guns and ammo around the perimeter and death all about you! If you get out of the pit alive with the BFG or railgun, you can't lose. You're odds aren't that great, however - grenades decorate the perimeter of the pit, just ACHING to be lobbed in at you! Oh, and be careful picking up the BFG... If you trigger the trap, you'll drown. DKQ2DM5 - Fixed version of my SPARTZ.BSP (I had forgotten to compile the lighting in the original version. Oops!). This level is built around the transparent trap control center platform, on which you'll find buttons to activate the crusher, the laser cannon (aimed right at the only teleporter leading to the control platform), the two cages, and to open up the pit (you fall so far you die). Reach out and frag someone! DKQ2DM6 - Slightly modified version of my PYRAMYYD.BSP. The lava button is now red, indicating its functionality. This map is a four-floor pyramid! A BFG floats in the water of the basement, and a button by the ladder taking you from the first to the second floor spews lava into that water (so fry your opponents if they think they want a BFG)! You'll get a shotgun and a machinegun on the first floor; a rocket launcher, super shotgun, chaingun, and perhaps the railgun (if you find it) on the second floor. If you manage to get up to the third floor, you'll find three teleporters: one with body armor on it, another with power armor, and the last with a quad damage. You'll teleport into the basement water when you pick one, so choose wisely! DKQ2DM7 - Originally known as LUAP.BSP, this level is one of my personal favorites. It is intended for team play, but is also quite fun in a free-for-all. The level is a formidable castle, centered upon a hill. A moat slows your progress around the perimeter, in which you'll find rocket launchers and health, etc. Stock up and then raid the castle! If you get up top, you'll find a launcher and plenty of grenades with which to rain death upon your opponents. The idea is to see which team can hold the castle the longest (when playing against bots, I suggest a free-for-all, as one person can usually control the entire castle on his own versus bots). DKQ2DM8 - Once known as LAVALAND.BSP, this level is most certainly NOT for newbies. I made it in honor of one of my favorite targets, Tom Grieve: if there is acid on a level, Tom will FIND A WAY to fall in!! Heh heh, and there is PLENTY of acid on this level, let me tell ya! This level definately has a style all its own!! I highly recommend that you practice manuevering on this one before you attempt a deathmatch - and that you SET A TIME LIMIT when you do!! ============================================================================= * Play Information * Single Player : Most maps have something for you to shoot at, but none of them have an exit. Cooperative 2 player : Only on DKQ2DM7. Deathmatch 2-8 player : All maps support up to 8 players, but it might be best to play with only four on some of them. Skill Levels : Will not make a difference. New Sounds : No. New Graphics : No. New Music : No. Base(s) : My own previous Quake II levels. Build Time : Too long, but it was worth it! Additional Notes : I don't know which I'm looking forward to more... Quake III or Star Wars: Episode One!!! ============================================================================= * How To Play * To load DKQ2DMx (where x is 1-8) into the game, copy DKQ2DMx.BSP to your QUAKE2\BASEQ2\MAPS directory and, at the game console, type: map DKQ2DMx OR: Add the content of DK_MAPS.LST to QUAKE2\BASEQ2\MAPS.LST and thereafter you may select one of these levels from your list when starting a network server (and they will thereafter be included in your normal deathmatch level cycle). To play the Death Knight Collection over the modem or on a network, consult the game documentation. ============================================================================= * Permissions * Authors may not use these levels as a base to build additional levels without giving me credit for the original versions, as well as stating the changes made within a text file. Also, please don't recycle the original map or file names with your modified versions. You may distribute this collection in any electronic format (Internet, CD, Diskette, etc.) as long as you include this text file. If the Death Knight Collection is to be distributed on a CD, all I expect is to hear about it.. Thanks!
