May 19, 1999 ======================================================================== Title : "Escape from Hyperion" Filename : escape.bsp Author : Paul "JTR" Steffens Email Address : caliberx@xs4all.nl Homepage : http://www.xs4all.nl/~caliberx Description : Quake 2 deathmatch level Additional Credits to : id Software, of course Qoole Rust (http://www.gamedesign.net/) ======================================================================== * Play Information * Single Player : No Cooperative : Nope Deathmatch : Yes, about 6 spawn locations Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from earlier map by myself Editor(s) used : Qoole 2.5 Qoole 99 beta Known Bugs : None, I think Build Time : Hum, looonnggg (so much quake, so little time) Compile machine : PII 450 with 128Mb Compile Time : about 10-15 minutes * Other Info * This level is based on a level I made previously but didn't work out. That one was called Hyperion (after the original location of The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5), hence the name. It is a small DM level and contains the megahealth, adrenaline and red armor. Only the BFG and hyperblaster are missing weaponwise. I wanted to give this level a nice nighttime look and it worked out pretty well. I also aimed for a good flow and 3d-ness. It contains two elevators and no room has less than two exits, it should play relatively fast. Nevertheless it is a bit on the big side for one-on-one but should hold up okay with up to 6-7 players. On the downside the main area has in places high r_speeds, so DM-ing on a low spec machine without 3d-acceleration will probably be less enjoyable. However, I know you all have good 3d-acceleration because you want Quake 3, right? I myself had no problems whatsoever running it on a listenserver with four other players, but then I have a PII 450 with a TNT-card, oh well... * How to install * Put escape.bsp in your QUAKE2\BASEQ2\MAPS\ directory.
