Submit your maps here too. Description : This is my second Quake II level and I believe this is a vast improvement over my first (called arena.BSP). I have tried to make the architecture of the building much more interesting by adding roof beams and skylights etc. This level also runs much quicker than The Arena because of the smaller open spaces. The inspiration for this map came from the excellent level "q2dm8", if you don't have this one then I suggest you get hold of it, it's a cracker. The level is obviously based on a warehouse and the main focus of it is the conveyor belt which is present in most of the rooms. The crates on the conveyor will kill you if they trap you against a wall for example. Also of interest is the bit of air ducting running through two of the rooms. You can get inside and snipe your opponents through the grates. ************************ By the way if you run or know of any server running this map then please e-mail me (martin8@clara.net). N.B. (Eraser users only): I have also included a route table in the ZIP. This is to save you having to wander around for ten minutes or so to create one. To use it just unzip the file "mkwhouse.RTZ" into your "quake2/eraser/routes" directory BEFORE you load the level for the first time, and the bots will be intelligent immediately. Build Time : About 20 hours in 2 weeks (I was supposed to be studying) :( Brush Count : 1241 (of which 228 are entities) Compile Machine : Pentium 166 MMX, 32 Mb RAM, 4 Mb Righteous 3D 3DFX Card. Compile Time : 2 hours 53 minutes 36 seconds. Editor(s) Used : QERadiant 072 (powerful yet easy to use). Known Bugs : There's a beam in the main room (the one with the doors in it) that has messed up for some reason. You can see it up close if you are stood on the conveyor which passes through the wall into the adjoining room. I have no idea why this has happened but it is only an aesthetic glitch, it does not effect the play of the level. * How To Use This Level * Unzip the file "mkwhouse.bsp" into your "quake2/baseq2/maps" directory. Start up Quake II and bring up the console then type "map mkwhouse". * Additional Credits * Obviously, all credit to id for creating the Quake II phenomenon.
