******************************************************************************************** ------------------------------------>The Night Falls<------------------------------------- ******************************************************************************************** Map File Name: q2bmdm2a.bsp File Size: 585 kb Author: Bill Main, a.k.a. Bittoman -- bittoman@quake3rocks.com -----Version A------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Falls are back and I think this is a much better version than the original. I was happy with the original lighting but yet there was something wrong. I decided to try a night themed version and it should be coming out with Xenophonbia (formarly known as Predator vs. Prey) and I and my friend were much happier with the results. I have also sped up the doors to somewhere between the speed of sound and the speed of light, so you don't have to get another rail in your back waiting for those damn doors to open :) The weapons have been significantly tweaked since there was so much armor and ammo, there is only one of each weapon, minus the BFG and I added the hyper blaster. When I started mucking around with updating this map, I also couldn't resist adding a few extra tunnels and things, these additions and the lighting have increased this map by 50%, also the r_speeds on a rare occasion, one in particular is the long cave in the falls area, reach around 600, kinda defeats what was happening when I built this map to begin with. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This map has a very interesting history. Aside from the fact that it has been built 3 times because QERadiant or I would do something stupid that would either keep the map from running or crashing Windows, it is also a map that I started building as a way of figuring out those pesky func_areaportal entity. In fact there are about 10 doors in this strictly deathmatch map and every single one has a working areaportal in it. Because of this, I have been able to create large complicated rooms and still keep the r_speeds below 450 making it great for lower end computers. This map turned out very well considering it was not planned, written down, and was completely random.
