Description of the modification ------------------------------- (note that cc means console command) 3 times more weapons, a lot of options for the server, and some "adds". To allow the added weapons type the cc "armes" (several times if it's necessary) (3 levels : normal, weapons*2, weapons*3). The weapons added can be used by hiting several times a weapon key : to use the throwing axe type 2 times the "1" key, 3 times for the morning star, etc. Weapons number : 1)Axe/Throwing Axe/Morning Star 2)Shotgun/Large Shotgun/Automatic Shotgun 3)Double Barreled Shotgun/Forward-Backward Shotgun/Grouped Shotgun 4)Nailgun/Laser Nailgun/Gelee Nailgun 5)Super Nailgun/Flame Launcher/Super Lava Nailgun 6)Grenade Launcher/Pipe Bomb/Ball Bomb 7)Rocket Launcher/Pipe Rocket/Homing Missile 8)Thunderbolt/Super Thunderbolt/Glue Launcher To explose pipes use the "x" key (cc explo"). The Ball Bombs and Homings can target an hologram or a Pipe Bomb. The Pipes power can be accumulated (it has a better effect). The Forward-Backward Shotgun shoot forward AND BACKWARD. You can't make a flame under water. The Super Thunderbolt can electrocute the water also if you are out of water. The Glue Launcher stick players (8 sec.) but they can shoot. The players can do more more things : cc "action" (3 levels). 1)The bonus like Pentagram, Quad, BioSuit and Ring of Shadows can be enabled and disabled : "z" for the Quad "e" for the Pentagram "r" for the Ring of shadows "s" for the BioSuit "j" for the Jetpack The BioSuit is automatic. Either the Pentagram in single. The Jetpack is obtained with the megahealth. 1 Suit = 30 secondes; 1 Pentagram = 15 secondes, max = 25; 1 Ring of s. = 25 secondes, max = 60; 1 Quad = 15 secondes, max = 45; 1 megahealth = 30 secondes of jetpack; The times remaining of each bonus is obtained by the cc "tempo". 2)You can launch a camera : the weapon #9 (the 9 key); To launch a camera hit the fire key. One camera takes 8 cells, and last 2 minutes. To watch the camera view hit "b" (cc "camera"). Only one camera can be launched, another will remove the previous. 3)You can drop a torch or light ON/OFF torches : the weapon #9*2; To drop a torch hit the fire key. One torch last 1 minutes (doesn't take cells or rockets). To light OFF a torch of the game (not your torch) go near the torch and hit fire, to light ON hit fire again. 4)You can launch a detector : the weapon #9*3; To launch a detector hit the fire key. One detector takes 8 cells, and last 2 minutes. Only one detector can be launched, another will remove the previous. The detector tells you what he had detected each 1.5 secondes (eg. player, hologram, health, cells, quad, pentagram, mine,...). 5)Hologram : the "h" key (cc "holo") To launch an hologram, hit "h", to remove it hit "h" again, it takes 5 cells. The hologram speed is 2*the player's speed (try:run and launch the hologram). It keeps your angle view (try:look down and launch). It has your skin (if the MDL support is enabled). You can teleport to your hologram but it takes 1 rocket and 8 cells. The hologram can be teleported, turned on right (cc "holor") and on left (cc "holol"). 6)You can crawl : the "q" key (QWERTY) or the "a" key (AZERTY) (cc ramp) If you don't move you feign death, but if you take a think or use a weapon you get up. 7)Mines : the "v" key (cc "mine") The power of the mines can be accumulated. A mine can be shooted by nails or explosions. 8)You can have informations about your target : (cc target) name,health,armor,team,... (eg. you can "bind enter target") 9)You can drop a backpack with ammo, weapons, armor, health : (interesting in teamplay mode) To begin, hold backspace, then you can add health, shells,... to the future backpack by using the keys 1-8. To add a weapon or armor, hit 0, then select a weapon (3-8) or armor (2) (0 again will cancel). When you have finished, release backspace : a backpack will be droped. You can't drop empty backpack. The flames make damages.Zombies can be shooted. Nails, rockets, grenades, hologram,... can be teleported. When you are dead, you can watch the screen of the other players : spacebar will change the player's view, control will respawn the player. When a player have a maximum of each ammo, all the other player are gibbed and he lose his ammo and somme weapons (atomic bomb). The server has a lot of parameters; 1) ARMES : 3 levels of weapons (in french : 3 niveaux) niveau 0 : you can only use standards weapons; niveau 1 : 2*weapons + mines; niveau 2 : 3*weapons. 2) ACTION : 3 levels of the player's allowed action niveau 0 : standards; niveau 1 : you can crawl, use the Jetpack, the hologram, cc "target",; niveau 2 : you drop a backpack, launch a camera, a detector, a torch, holo-teleport. 3) CAMP : toggle anti-camper program ON/OFF If a player stay more than 15 seconds in a same zone, he will be put by the server in sudden death mode (health=1, ammo=0!); He will just have a shotgun and five shells. 4) RECHARGE : self regeneration give cells and health. The less health you have, the more you will be given. 5) BOURRIN : in french, "bourrin" means "abuse of power",... Each player begin with 200% of health up to 500%, the super shotgun, and the grenade launcher (but 0 rockets). The maximum ammo of each weapon is greater than before. 6) MDL : toggle ON/OFF the MDL support. If all the players have the .mdl and .wav, put it on and everybody could change skin, have other things (pipes,throwing axe,...). 7) MSG : to enable the messages like "You got ...". 8) AUTOBONUS : enable automatically Quad, Suit,... when a player got one. Use it when players don't know the bonus keys. 9) TEAM : Zep's teamplay mode (I don't know if it works fine) The players of a same team will respawn near their team. 10) RANDOM : randomize the respawning point of items. 11) SANTE : "sante" means "health" ; The less health you have, the less fast you will run and jump. 12) ZARMES : When it is ON, a player need to have 2 or 3 times a weapon to use the other weapons of the same type. eg. 1 rocket launcher = rocket launcher ! 2 rocket launchers = rocket launcher + pipe rocket; 3 rocket launchers = rocket launcher + pipe rocket + homing. 13) DEATHMATCH = 3 : deathmatch with monsters. ou SKILL = 3 : singleplayer nightmar skill. 14) AUTRES : to allow a dead player to see the others' screens. If the server is dedicated it can relay the commands to a player : 1) the server must choose a number ## <> 0 in the console var "temp1" eg. "temp1 27" 2) then, tell the player to rename in ## (## is the same number). 3) the player has just to type "relais" at the console and he become the server controler. How to install and use the modification --------------------------------------- Make a directory in your Quake directory, eg.: "MD X:\...\QUAKE\ZEP"; Unzip the file ZDMR097.ZIP in it, eg.: "X:\...\QUAKE\ZEP\PKUNZIP -D ZDMR097.ZIP"; Launch Quake with the parameter "-game zep", eg.: "quake -game zep" or "wq max -game zep" In a multiplayer game, nobody needs any .cfg files : the keyboard is automatically remaped by the server. But players need the .wav or .mdl files only if the mdl support is ON. If the mdl support is ON and they don't have those files in their "X:\...\quake\progs" directory, they couldn't join the server.
