======================== RESUME 0.95 ==================================== This patch keeps a backup of players' scores in case someone suffers a random disconnection during a net or modem game. The patch restores a player's previous frag count if he reconnects to the server within 5 minutes of being disconnected. This patch has a flaw -- it can only identify players by their names, which leaves it open to abuse by morons (use your imagination). You may wish to only use it for clan matches or on a closed server. Btw, you must keep the same name throughout the game to benefit from the patch. First version number was 0.90, written by Jim Steers, 04/10/96. Gripes about inefficient programming are legitimate -- I'm not a programmer. This and a couple of other early patches were written on request, for practice. This version is 0.95, made on 06/12/96. The only change is to limit updates to once a second. First release ran updates every 1/10th second, too much unnecessary work for the processor. Available via ftp from ftp.cdrom.com. Available on the web from 07/12/96 as follows : http://www.espero.demon.co.uk/qstuff.html The source is in .qc and unified diff format, made from v1.06 QC code. Comments and bug reports by e-mail to jim@espero.demon.co.uk ** Forthcoming -- AiStuff (for want of a better name) .. a patch along the lines of 'Reaperbots as monsters', which includes a new ending and numerous changes/improvements, large and small. For solo and co-op play only ! Will be uploaded soon, along with the source ** Jim S, 06/12/96.
