Description of the Modification ------------------------------- Remember the hologram you could drop to annoy fellow DukeMatchers in Duke3D?? This is a remake, with some interesting additions. You can drop a hologram, it looks like you, and always faces the same way as you (meaning it rotates on the spot where you dropped it). The hologram runs on cells, decreasing one cell every 2 seconds (or so). Now, the fun begins. If you wish, you can detonate the hologram at the price of 3 rockets. It explodes with the same force as a single rocket, and can therefore be used as a sort of remote controlled mine. There's a small delay before the hologram detonates, and while in this phase, the hologram will glow. How to Install the Modification ------------------------------- Very short, you have read this many times before. Make a directory called HOLOGRAM in the quake dir, unzip the hologram.zip file to the HOLOGRAM directory, and start quake with quake -game hologram Impulse 15 activates / deactivates hologram. Impulse 20 detonates it. Tech Information ---------------- Where to find what. client.qc : MOTD text, used when you play DM, to show that the server uses the hologram patch. (You should only use it in DM, I havent tested it in single mode, and doubt it will do anything but drain your cells.) Also added some text to show when you kill someone (or yourself) with an exploding hologram. player.qc : Removes a hologram from play, if player has activated one, when he dies. weapons.qc : This is where the actual hologram code is to be found, look at the bottom of the code.
