Format of QuakeC ---------------- unified diff : no context diff : no .qc files : yes progs.dat : no Description of the Modification ------------------------------- A new grenade / rocket type. Using "impulse 12" (linked to "9" in config.cfg) switches the grenades / rockets used by the grenade / rocket launcher between normal an Shocka's(TM). When exploding, the Shocka's blast away all enemys (including you) in range without doing any damage (great for DM level's with small platforms and a lot of lava / slime!!!). This looks really great with monsters. They are dizzy for a short time before standing up again. To make the Shocka's(TM) useful in single player monsters now take damage from water, slime and lava. I finally got this part to work properly (If not, tell me, but i haven't found any bugs yet). How to Install the Modification ------------------------------- Make a new dir in your quake directory (ie c:\quake\shocka) then unzip shocka.zip inside of this directory. Now run qccdos in this directory and play quake with quake -game shocka To switch grenades / rockets ammo use "9" or "impulse 12". Technical Details ----------------- Report all bugs to me. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME HOW WEIRD THE WHOLE THING IS WRITTEN! (I know it) The monsters are blasted away like the jump function of e.g. the demon. The closer they are to the explosions center, the harder they will be blasted. Water damage is checked inside of the (!!!)monster_run function. (Well, it works, so why not?) If you wonder why water does so much damage to a monster i must tell you that they just CANNOT swim (or i was too lazy to let them be able to swim...). The additional monster frames are mostly based upon the death frames. Still needs ----------- Correct player animations in deathmatch (i can't get this to work...) Dead monsters are blasted Tell me your ideas Older versions -------------- V1.24 : Fixed a bug in multiplayer games (ammo did not change correctly because of some stupid global variable). Fixed negative damage bug (enemys could be "healed" if hit multiple times by a Shocka(TM)). V1.23 : Heads can be blasted away now (they have got a "little" blood trail behind them which looks really cool). V1.22 : If player uses quad damage the Shocka explosions will blast enemys harder. If player has got a pentagram of protection, he will not be harmed by any Shocka explosions. V1.20 : Shocka ammo now also available for rocket launcher(!!!), so blast'em away. If monsters are blasted against a wall hard enough, you will hear their bones break (they get damage according to their velocity). V1.11 : If monsters have their head over water, they take less damage (In slime or lava they always take full damage). Zombies and fishes do not make bubbles anymore if they are under water. V1.10 : Monsters now die correctly when in water, slime or lava (In earlier versions, the monsters did not die instantly if their health got below 1 because of the stupid hack). V1.01 : Zombies and fishes don't drown in water (Zombies because in many levels there are zombies standing in the water and it would be stupid if they fell down every second without giving you the chance to blast them to pieces).
