Worldcraft Easy FDG by Excalibur ============================================================================== NAME: WCHELP.ZIP ============================================================================== DESCRIPTION: ============================================================================== This little archive contains a bunch of .bat files for use with Worldcraft 3d game editor. All it does is provide you with a quick and easy way to select your game of preference to edit. ============================================================================== DIRECTIONS: ============================================================================== Unzip this file into your Worldcraft Directory. Piece O' Cake. Now, since my system is definately not like yours, You *may* want to set up the fdg files to your liking. Just open them up with any ole text editor (I prefer ultra edit) and change the name of the palette to what you're using. I've included them in the .zip file so you don't really have to change the palette names, but you can if you so choose. Next, edit all the batch files to reflect the name of your .fdg files you're using, or, you can just leave the names the same since i've included those as well ... (pretty simple, eh?) now comes the fun part. Edit the batch files to reflect the names of the texture files you're using. Now it get's tricky: I used QuakeTextures.wad for Quake, Quake2Textures.wad for Quake2 ... you get the idea, it's pretty much the same all around. Now when you execute the batch file of your choice, a few things will happen: The fdg corresponding with what you want to edit will be copied to the same directory as worldcraft.fdg (all the fdg's included here have the .x at the end for a reason!). Since worldcraft uses the first .fdg it comes across, i've renamed all the other fdg files as .fdg.x files ... When they're copied to worldcraft.fdg, worldcraft sees only the worldcraft.fdg and uses it. Voila! You've conquered the one fdg limit of worldcraft in one fell swoop! Since you can specify the palette in the .fdg file, the palette for worldcraft is automagically loaded into the correct color set. This is the fun part. The texture .wad for your game is copied to textures.wad. Just set Worldcraft's preferences to point to textures.wad and voom! You have the correct textures in the correct palette with all the happy fun fun entities that You need for editing! The cool thing is: If you only edit in one game, After this, all you have to do is x2 click on worldcraft and it'll use what you want every time thereafter. When you decide to start editing in the other games, just use the .bat files and you'll be set. ============================================================================== Included in this .zip file are: ============================================================================== - *.fdg.x (Forge Game Data files for Hexen2-Zerstorer) - *.pal (Palettes for Hexen2-Zerstorer) - *.bat (Batch files for Hexen2-Zerstorer) - Readme.txt (This file) ============================================================================== Copyrights: ============================================================================== All games mentioned in this file as well as any registered or trademarked terms are copyright to their respective owners.
