QWMaster is a Quakeworld 1.55+ Master Server.  It is distributed as messageware (send me a message telling me you are using it and that you like/hate it and why) as long as it is accompanied by this unaltered message.

The requirements are:
486 or higher
Windows NT 4.0 or higher
16 megs RAM or higher

or

DEC Alpha
Windows NT 4.0 or higher
32 megs RAM or higher

Currently, QWMaster has the basic functionality of the ID Software version.  However, I intend to extend the functionality as time permits.  Right now, it is hardcoded to port 27000.  I will be adding the capability to configure it to run more than one port and maintain databases separately for these ports.

Coming is the ability to configure peer servers.  What this means is that you will be able to point it to another Quakeworld master server and have it import the list.

Also, I am thinking of ways to do user tracking for ranking purposes.

QWMaster runs as a system service under Windows NT.  It is very scalable.  It creates a thread pool based on the number of processors your machine has, and uses completion ports to manage I/O.  What this means is that it is very scalable.  QWMaster would have no trouble servicing 10,000 Quakeworld servers.

Suggestions and bug reports (prefferably with stack traces or Dr. Watson logs) are welcome.  Keep in mind, however, that my real job takes 12+ hours of my day, so I won't be able to devote tons of attention to this.

To install, extract to a directory (no I didn't write an InstallShield for this, sue me) and run setup.bat.

To uninstall, type "qwmaster /remove" at a command prompt and delete qwmaster.exe from your %systemroot%\system32 directory.
