RGB v1.1 Quake Colormap / Palette Editor Coded By Nine inch Nat of SHTF http://www.planetquake.com/shtf I..... Intro II.... Getting Started III... All Thats Left (Thanks / Greets) ------------------ I. Intro ------------------ Thanks for supporting RGB and SHTF Development, we thank you for taking the time to download our software. RGB is a Quake Colormap / Palette Editor that just pretty much makes palette and colormap editing a bit easier. If you ever downloaded QcBud before you know that 1. That was never finished and 2. The docs really sucked, im not much for writing docs so in these ill just try to explain what may be somewhat confusing, overall if you know anything of the quake palette and/or the quake colormap this program shouldnt be very complicated. ------------------ II. Getting Started ------------------ Assuming you have already unziped and installed RGB run the RGB.EXE file or click on the start menu and then to the RGB icon. After RGB comes up you will see some color boxes and what not.. There are a total of 128 color boxes, each representing a color of the palette, there is also a set of buttons that will toggle the boxes to represent either the first 128 colors of the palette or the last 128 totaling 256 colors.. Right Clicking on a Color Box will bring up a menu of options Select Row, Column, Deselect Row, Column, and Change All Instances, Chaning all instances will change wherever the selected color is to the color in the color modifying window (below). This is good if you dont want to change the palette. Above the color boxes is a combo box labeled BRIGHTNESS.. this represents the light brightness in which you would like to modify, 0 being FULLBRIGHT and 63 being total darkness.. To the right of the color boxes are 4 text boxes, the top box holds the color index, or what order the color is in the quake palette, under that are the RED GREEN and BLUE fields these hold the Red Green and Blue values of the current color (ex. White would be 255 red 255 green, and 255 blue). These are only used when modifying the Quake Palette and for reference. Below and to the left of the color boxes is another larger colorbox, this is the color modifying window, when double clicking on this window, the selected color boxes will change to the color in this window.. To the right of the color modifying window are two text boxes labeled RANGE.. these boxes represent the range of light Brightnesses you wish to modify in the colormap.. if you wanted only the first 10 (brightest lights) edited you would type 0 in the first box and 10 in the second, upon changing the brightness combo box these boxes will change to modify only the selected brightness. ** PALETTE ONLY ** If you Click on the VIEW menu and then select the Palette some of the controls disapear and one button shall become visible, when you click on this button the selected colors' Red Green and Blue on the color boxes will be changed to the values in the Red Green and Blue text boxes above the button.. Upon editing the palette the colormap shall be updated as well.. ------------------ III...
