====================================================================== JakFrost's Citadels Demo 1 ====================================================================== Date Recorded: 1999-04-04 11:00 UTC Game Name: Starsiege Tribes Game Version: 1.3 Demo Time: 15 minutes Mission Type: Capture And Hold Mission Name: Citadels Player Name: JakFrost Email: jakfrost(at)planetstarsiege(dot)com Website: http://www.planetstarsiege.com/tactical/ Displayed Tactics: Turret Placement, Asset Placement, Asset Destruction ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Description ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a lengthy demo showing some defense and demolition for the Citadels map. This demo shows the proper turret setup for defending the inside of a citadel. It also shows how to use pulse sensors and motion sensors to block passages and block the switch to prevent quick takeovers. Also proper mining techniques are shown to demonstrate the effective placement of mines behind corners where it's too late once you see the mine. Also, as a quick demonstration this demos shows off some demolition techniques in this demo. It demonstrates the proper flying technique to get to the enemy citadel without being fired at by the rocket turret. Also, the mine and grenade with ELF demolition technique is shown. Immediately after you start ELFing the turret or sensor, you drop a mine and then quickly drop a grenade. Your ELFing with the combined explosion from the mine and grenade take out the turret or sensor in one shot in less than 3 seconds. Another demolition technique shown is how to disable turrets. It only takes 1 shot of the plasma gun to disable a remote turret at which time it becomes inoperational. It is better to leave disabled turrets than to destroy turrets because it takes a longer time for the enemy to repair the turrets than to replace them with new ones. Sometimes the enemy won't notice that the turrets have been disabled because the only visual indicator is the visible damage on the turret which isn't very noticeable. For this demo, I decided to use the 3rd person perspective. I feel that watching demos in 3rd person is much more enjoyable and educational. This is my first attempt at recording and playing in 3rd person. Hope you enjoy it. ______________________________________________________________________
