====================================================================== JakFrost's Rollercoaster Demo 3 ====================================================================== Date Recorded: 1999-08-26 01:41 UTC Game Name: Starsiege Tribes Game Version: 1.8 Demo Time: 4 minutes Mission Type: Capture The Flag Mission Name: Rollercoaster Player Name: JakFrost Email: jakfrost(at)planetstarsiege(dot)com Website: http://www.planetstarsiege.com/tactical/ Displayed Tactics: Turret Placement, Mine Usage ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Description ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This demo displays one of the more effective ways to setup remote turrets, inventory stations, and mines on this map. The turrets inside the base are facing the entrance ways. They almost guarantee a shot at the enemy since they are already facing the door way. The inventory station inside should provide your players with enough equipment to defend themselves and to repair the base in case the enemy takes the power out. The inventory station behind the base will serve as a backup station just in case the inside the base is destroyed. Since the station is behind the base there is less of a chance of the enemy seeing and destroying the station. The turrets placed on the roof above the solar panels should provide some small degree of defense against foolhardy attackers who decided to ski jump to your base without destroying the outside defenses first. The turrets in each corner of the flag gazebo should provide some coverage for the flag, and they can be quite effective at eliminating any enemies who have already been damaged or who have stepped on a mine. The turrets on the outer corners of the gazebo should provide some limited defense, provided that they aren't destroyed first by enemy snipers. The inventory station behind the flag gazebo should provide any heavy defenders with necessary ammo and health packs. Also, the mine field below the flag gazebo should take care of any enemy flag capers who just happen to fall down below to the ground. The mine field is very quick and easy to setup and I recommend it's use heavily, provided that you are playing with a team which is half-way competent enough not to go down below the gazebo. All in all, this kind of a setup should provide a good defense provided that there are defenders there to actually defend the base. ______________________________________________________________________
