Title: Mike & Pete's Fun Half-Life NPC Sounds Pak Number: MISC_SCI, v1.00 Authors: Mike & Pete Chu Date: 1999-08-22 E-mail: mchu@scs.ryerson.ca peterachu@hotmail.com Webpage: http://www.scs.ryerson.ca/mchu/HLS http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Bunker/3344 Pak Description: ================ This pak file contains all the miscellaneous sounds for the scientist: it contains random one-liners, random questions, random answers, random greetings, "used" & "released" lines, healing lines, health status, pain, shock, & fear lines. (If, after placing this pak in your \valve directory, you hear some questions/answers/etc that you recognize from the original game, then they are lines that we have missed -- please e-mail us the line that you heard and we will try to locate and replace it.) General Description: ==================== Basically these are sounds to replace some NPC sounds in the single-player game. There really is no reason why we came up with them ... we just started fooling around with PakExplorer and decided it would be a fun thing to do. Anyways, enjoy *** WARNING! *** These pak files do contain some words (and phrases) that some people may find offensive. Installation: ============= Copy the pak file into your Half-Life\valve directory, and rename it to the first "pakX.pak" name available, where X is a number starting from 1. Then, start a single-player game and enjoy! ** Please note: ** Many of the replacement sounds are much longer than the original sounds that they replace. Because of this, you will probably find that a lot of the replacement sounds get interrupted. There is, unfortunately, no fix for this, but one thing that may help is to avoid looking at the speaker, as that sometimes prompts him to say something.
